We had the good fortune of connecting with Blanca Mondragon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Blanca, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Panel Question: If you are a parent, what do you think is the most important thing you’ve done as a parent in terms of the impact on your children? ——————————————————————————————————————
I believe the most important thing as a parent and business owner is to show your child by your example, that they can pursue any dream they have. It’s important that they know that anything is possible if they put in the work and are persistent.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At Amazing Flowers, we don’t seek the profit on the individual order or event, but rather strive to create long-lasting relationships with our customers. I create designs that help my customers express their feelings through the power of flowers.
Getting to where I am now was definitely not an easy journey. Like everything in life, it took a lot of persistence, passion, long hours and time away from family, and consistency. One of the biggest things that has helped me in my journey as a florist and business owner is education. I strongly believe that education is a great tool and I’ve invested in it to further polish my craft.
I really want the world to know that all things are possible and to never stop learning and educating yourself about what passionates you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Sunday: We would have a relaxed early morning and get ready for church. After church I would take my friend to Postinos and enjoy an assorted board. We would then head to Phoenix Theater and watch one of the plays.
Monday through Wednesday:
Early in the morning we would stop by Windows Coffee Bar for a delicious avocado toast and a cup of coffee. On Wednesday morning we would switch it up a bit and enjoy breakfast at Uptown Farmers Market. After breakfast those days, my friend would come with me to Amazing Flowers and spend a day in a life with me. I would teach her how to create arrangements and even allow my friend to create her own.
On Thursday, I would take my friend to Colados Coffee and Crepes on 7th St. and Oak. There we will order a mouth watering crape of our choice and a cup of coffee. Next I will take her to Bella Skin on 24th st to pamper ourselves with a wonderful facial. For lunch we will enjoy a tuna melt sandwich with a salad at La Grande Orange. To end our outing, we would go to the Biltmore Plaza and walk around and do some shopping, picking something out from our favorite store Cornelia Park.
Friday, I would take my friend to one of my favorite bakeries, Abbie Cakes in Avondale. Next my husband would meet us for some fun at Top Golf. For a late lunch and early dinner we would come eat Pho at Pho Thranh Restaurant on 17th Ave and Camelback. We would then head home and get ready for an adventurous weekend.
Saturday: We will have a family outing in Sedona and enjoy a great time walking around, sightseeing, shopping, and eating at local restaurants.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I want to give thanks to God for all the blessings in my life. I would also like to recognize my biggest supporter and number one fan, my lovely husband Lazaro Lopez. Last but certainly not least, I want to recognize my dear friend and mentor, Arizona State Florist Association Certification Director, Brian Vetter.
