We had the good fortune of connecting with Britany Wolf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britany, what are you most passionate about?
My job! Working at Phoenix Childrens has changed my life! I’ve worked there since 2007, and little did I know it would grow into helping hundreds of kiddos along side my amazing team ! The life saving surgeries we do everyday, is nothing short of a miracle! The whole hospital is just a magical place!!!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the lead for my Neuro surgery program at Phoenix children’s, I have been with Pch since 2007, but without my other amazing teammates I wouldn’t be able to do my job! This job is like no other ! There is no”I “ in team !!! It truly takes an army to help, do what we do! Everyone has their role, and if we don’t have that person, then the procedure‘s can’t go! It’s truly a work of art what we do! We have the commander of the ship(The surgeon) and all of the other vital members of the team, all helping to keep the kids alive and safe. Everyone’s job is just as important as the next! That’s what I love about our team! No matter your position, you are valued and your opinion is important! We all work together to come up with the best plan, so that the outcome is the best it can be! I am so passionate about my job as a surgical tech, I help pass instruments to the surgeon , set up the sterile field ,but it’s so much more then that! We get to help be apart of world renown procedures, help build amazing programs, and so much more! I never would have thought I would love a job so much, but I do !!!
I love the team I work with, and that is what really makes it Special ! They truly are like family, they respect me, and value my opinion. I look up to them in more ways then one ! I just hope that people can find something in life that they are truly passionate about, that they look forward to everyday, like I do !
Do what makes you happy ! Don’t be scared to try something new ! Take it from this cosmetologist, turned surgical tech !
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love downtown Gilbert (pre covid ) I don’t do much right now, but they have added so many new places to eat . The environment down there is just alive ! Tons of people walking around, enjoying the environment !
I live out in San tan valley, and we are starting to grow as well! We are getting new places to shop, eat, and just enjoy your family and friends company ! One of our favorite places is olive mill! You can sit have a drink, food, and learn a little about there whole olive process ! And let’s not forget about Schneph farms! From picking fruit, home baked goods, and all of the fun events they plan ! It’s the best place for families to get out of the house and enjoy outdoors.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family of course for being my rock throughout life! They have helped me through so many seasons in my life. I wouldn’t be me, without them.
And I would say the doctors, nurses and techs I work with have played a huge role in my life, and career at Pch! They are family to me! They have watched me grow, and helped me grow within my career, and my life and I am truly thankful for each and every one of them! They are some of the Strongest people I know! We see things together everyday, that know one will ever see in their lifetime! We save lives, and are doing incredible procedures everyday , some that haven’t been done in the pediatric world. We are making huge strides, and I’m so happy to be apart of it!
