We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Gloria, BSN, RN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking, what an exciting and necessary factor that is very relevant to my career as we speak. Since we spoke last, I have joined a new practice, Curated Medical, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I have continued to practice as an Aesthetic Nurse Injector in the Scottsdale area, Gainey Ranch to be specific, and have been so fortunate to work in our beautiful office off Via De Ventura and Hayden Road. With new endeavors comes new challenges, and this is where the risk taking comes into play. Building a clientele from the ground up has been no easy feat, treatment requires trust from my patients and that comes with the beauty of time. Sharing my work through social media, building business relationships, and fostering a network of support, these are all risk taking opportunities that have proven to help me succeed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My initial draw to aesthetics was based off an experience I had receiving Botox and filler for the first time, I left feeling beautiful and extremely pleased with my results. I was spoiling myself for graduating nursing school and immediately my interest was peaked, I had the realization, I’m now a nurse I could totally do this. At the time, my mindset was to get a foundational understanding of what it means to work in emergency medicine, then I’d allow myself to explore aesthetics. One year into my emergency nursing career, I was eager to work in aesthetics and took an injection certification course, keep in mind, I decided to do this September of 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finding an apprenticeship, an internship, a shadow position, anything, it was impossible. In addition to the ER, I ended up working one year for a local plastic surgeon before having the opportunity to train further in injectables. I’m so grateful for my break into this industry, easy is not a word I would use when sharing my story, but my success now wouldn’t be possible without the many obstacles I’ve faced. As an injector early on in my career, I truly value continual education in this ever changing industry and to stay on the cutting edge of aesthetic advancements. If I can have every patient leave feeling the way I did my first appointment, I’m on the right track.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh gosh! Anyone who knows me knows I’m OBSESSED with food and drinks, if there’s a cute new spot, I’m either there or on my way. First stop, we’re heading to Luci’s at the grove and ordering a honey cinnamon latte. Next we’re brunching at Francine, hands down the most gorgeous restaurant and my absolute favorite. If were having a pool day, were going to Lylo Swim Club and devouring their Hawaiian-Japanese inspired menu, so yummy. Out for dinner that night, we’ve got reservations at Toca Madera, what would a Saturday night be without flaming drinks, live musicians, and aerial hoop acrobats? Sunday, were having a relaxing day, brunch at Olive and Ivy, walking around old town Scottsdale, grabbing a drink at Cala throughout the day, and finishing it off at Geisha A Go Go for some fresh sushi.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When joining Curated Medical, I wanted to flourish as an injector and dedicate all the time necessary to my craft. With that being said, I made the big decision to leave emergency nursing completely and I haven’t looked back since. Taking the leap into injecting full time was no easy decision but with the support of my fiancé I have been able to focus on continual education, business development, and growing my community. At Curated Medical, Katie Mann, my mentor and manager, has shared her skills, knowledge, and expertise with me, I am extremely grateful. Lastly, my friends and family have been my biggest cheerleaders, truly believing in my work and my potential for the future.
