We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Rizzuto “Rizzo” and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Travel! I travel to explore because it gives me a true perspective, a natural curiosity. You develop an appreciation for things that we would otherwise take for granted. I love exploring somewhere unknown, not because it is the ultimate adventure but also because it exposes you to new people, different way of living, and it opens your mind.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel the most creative when I am traveling. Which is how I have been able to turn a passion project of traveling, photography/videography and writing into a career as a travel blogger. So when I am on the road I am always taking a little bit of extra time to capture the moment. The art of it lies in showing the viewer the way you see the world through your lens and hopefully capturing their interest in a way that draw them into that moment in time. I am so grateful for this opportunity to inspire others to get out there. The world is so insanely beautiful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone was coming to Arizona, I would have the best “must do” list ever! Of course it would include road tripping. So much of Arizona’s beauty lies in our nature.

We would start in Scottsdale and enjoy some tasty restaurants like Toca Madeira, City Hall, The Mission, or Olive and Ivy. We would absolutely have to brunch at a cute spot like Sumo Maya, Prep N Pastry, or Chelsea’s Kitchen. As we begin our roadtrip we would grab coffee from Berdenas or Luci’s beforehand.

Our first stop on the road trip would be in Sedona, truly one of my favorite places in the entire state. We would stay at Orchard Canyon on Oak Creek. There we would spend some time relaxing and enjoying the farm-to-table food that the property is known for. Of course, we couldn’t leave with out a picturesque, red rock Sedona hike or the chance to swim in a waterhole.

From there we would head more north to one of the wonders of the world- The Grand Canyon. Staying at a star-gazing property called Clear Sky Resorts.

Then head as north as you can go to Page, Arizona. Where you can find the famous Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and Horseshoe Bend- truly all a staples of Arizona. We would stay at the Hyatt Page.

Then we would eventually make our way back down towards the valley and pass through the college town and home of our ski mountain in Flagstaff, Arizona. There we would enjoy a local brewery downtown and hit some shops.

Lastly, we would end up in Phoenix- the capital. Downtown has thoroughly impressed me lately. There is so much art, new restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I really want to thank Cynthia Sassi, of Fabulous Arizona, for seeing my strengths and believing in me as a social media expert/ influencer. Years ago she allowed me to represent Fabulous Arizona at local events, media nights, and outings. As I continued to expand my own personal brand in the local space, she continued to include me as my own personal brand. So thank you Cynthia!!
