We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Romano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Thrive Yoga Studios is a lifestyle brand and social impact organization. The pace of living in America has increased exponentially and the expectations to be a productive citizen have become relentlessly demanding. In a modern day, there are fewer opportunities to unplug and tap into what makes us extraordinarily creative and vibrant! Our goal is to help people THRIVE and we believe that people can only live to their highest potential when three aspects of humanity are present; self-awareness, physical health and community. Our studios are structured to be less like fitness facilities and more like wellness sanctuaries. We are known for cultivating conscious communities, and empowering individuals. We specifically work to support our communities by:

  • Taking care of one another; we believe in people over principles! Our top priority is to foster and nourish our community and create a global family. We invest in people and we believe in unity. Inclusion is our way forward.
  • Taking ownership; in order to collectively elevate global consciousness the world needs each person to show up with intention, as “nature creates unity even in the parts of a whole.” We show our community members how to take responsibility for their personal transformation.
  • Normalizing making healthy decisions: Our dharma is to help individuals live to their highest potential. We believe that healthy humans need healthy spaces and Thrive Yoga’s serve to be some of the rare social community spaces that encourage gathering in a healthy and wholesome context.
  • Remembering that the most important yoga is the yoga done OFF of our mats: A yoga practice is like a dress rehearsal for life; we show community members how mindfulness is effective both on and off of our mats.

The nature of our work is both individualistic and team-oriented. Our spaces create opportunities for people to connect with themselves and to the collective. We believe that the world would be a different place if we gave ourselves permission to live more authentically.

What should our readers know about your business?
Thrive Yoga Studios was founded to be a resource for the masses of neighborhood studios and passion-based yoga studio owners. We aim to serve aspiring and existing yoga studios and studio owners that desire to find significant success in a complex industry without sacrificing the quality of the teachings, the yoga philosophy or their personal well-being. Over the last five years we have created an organization that can profile ideal communities and studio owners that can operate thriving yoga studios. Our goal is to foster a global yoga community through providing nourishing, healthy spaces for those seeking a life-well-lived.

When I first started my first yoga studio in 2017, I became intimately familiar with the reasons why yoga studios struggle to exist on their own. I began to identify areas of weakness, places where I needed professional support and I started to see areas and opportunities where a collective of studios could truly THRIVE. I began documenting all of our successful systems and processes and began building a curriculum that I could use to help other studios be successful. I found simple, clear ways to help ensure that yoga studios can remain sustainable and effective in all kinds of communities.

Studio owners, just like many small business owners, are not necessarily “business-people.” Most small business owners need a tremendous amount of support but slim profit margins keep them from getting the support they need. Thrive Yoga Studios offers a solution to this complex and boutique market. We support profitable studios, and we develop sound business owners. Unlike other yoga studio franchises, Thrive Yoga Studios keeps the cost of doing business affordable and makes it so that studios across the USA can experience the benefits of joining a yoga studio collective. It is our goal to support the opening and development of a sustainable yoga studio in any town in America.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a lover of all things outdoors! When my friends come to town we make sure to check out all of the most beautiful parts of the desert.

In the morning we would go for a run on the bike path and land at either Lux, Fourtillfour or Chadwick’s Urban Market for a coffee or Kaleidoscope for a juice. If we can sneak in a bike ride we might check out South Mountain, Phoenix Mountain Preserve or the Black Canyon Trail. If my husband’s friends are in town we are likely going to ride our dirt bikes out by Wickenburg or make our way towards the Bartlett Reservoir! (Crazy huh? A yogi who enjoys dirtbikes!)

After spending most of the day outside we would likely check out places such as Taco Guild and The Henry for dinner. We aren’t big drinkers or party people so we would likely be home at a reasonable time in order to put our 6 month old to bed and plan our next adventure.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Travis Hamel Olsen; he is a dear friend, a practicing buddhist, and a talented businessman. He has been a mentor of mine for years and I would say he deserves MUCH recognition!
