We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Soto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had a strong interest in trying new restaurants and sharing my experiences with friends & family. People would often ask me for food recommendations around the Valley. Then at some point in 2016 someone asked why don’t I just start a blog? It was at that moment I decided I wanted to create something that people can refer for the best places to eat at. Even though I knew there were several other influencers already creating content, I wanted to focus on the local food scene that often gets overlooked. Don’t get me wrong, the fine dining restaurants and the whole “Scottsdale Vibe” is cool but… I believe that hole in the wall joints and local neighborhood hidden gems deserve the same attention. That’s where Señor Foodie comes in featuring the best places in Phoenix! Whether you’re slanging food out on your front yard or selling tacos outside of a tire shop,.. as long as it’s good, it’s going to make an appearance on my Social Media accounts.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There are a lot of foodies out there that are trying to come up in the world of influencing. In order to stand out, I think it’s very important for one to identify why they want to do it. For me it was never about the clout or money. I want to highlight the best of Phoenix in a way that most existing influencers don’t. I’m also the foodie that is willing to drive to any part of Metro Phoenix that has amazing food. I don’t focus on just one type of cuisine. I’m very lucky to have friends from different cultural backgrounds who introduce me to different flavors. Another important aspect that helps me stand out is my taste in music and how I apply it to my food videos. I stay away from the TikTok music and instead play something that relates more to the setting. I will never promote a restaurant that I personally don’t like, no matter how much money they offer me. I like to think that my followers developed a trust towards me because they know the places I feature are legit. I respect the hustle for anyone who land influencer deals for corporations like Taco Bell. For me personally I value more local family owned businesses.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For food spots I would take my guest to: Bacanora, Barrio Cafe, Taco Huichos, Lom Wong, Pizza on 40th, Playa Hermosa, and Loco Style Grindz.

For drinks: The Grey Hen, Bar 1912, Highball, Garden Bar, AZ 88, and Khla.

For dessert: Mahalo, Realeza Michocana, Miss Dessert, Nami, and Desert Drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A lot of my current success wouldn’t be possible without some very important people in my life. The first shoutout goes out to my parents who instilled the interest of trying new places. I also want to recognize my fraternity brothers Erik Velazquez, Amador Chavez, and a few others who always believed in me. I want to thank my foodie crew Evey & Margo. Last but not least my girlfriend Marisol who has been there with me since our broke college days. They all continue to support my dreams.
