Meet Bryce Truhlar | Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryce Truhlar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryce, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my success is my dedication to my work. When I find something I want to do I put my mind to it and see it all of the way through. My friends and family give me a lot of support and knowledge when I need it as well. I do my best to study by craft whether through school or self research.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My form of art is modeling along with fashion. I am a non-binary model which isn’t super common currently. I do male and female modeling and have done paid gigs in both styles. I am most proud of how quickly I have been able to advance my career. I started my career on June 1st of 2021 and since then have gained over 700 followers on Instagram, modeled for various photographers, and have walked in LA Fashion week. I have worked hard to gain knowledge of the industry and use my skills to set my modeling style apart from others. The modeling came easy to me due to my gymnastics background but the most difficult part I have had is finding paid gigs. I’ve worked up to build my following and my work to show that I can be a model worth shooting with which has since boosted my paid gigs.
I’ve learned that the process is not always fast and that patience is key. You always need to find your niche but feel comfortable going outside of that as well.
My brand has been built on confidence and courage. In my experience being a non-binary model is always going to come with some hiccups and discrimination but as long as you have the power to keep pushing through it will always be worth it. Even if it’s not easy it doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit there is a surplus of places I would take them in Arizona! There’s always great places to eat like Junn all you can eat sushi, Pho Fresh Alley & Boba Tea, and Fogo De Chao. Some of my favorite places to get drinks at are Fat Tuesdays on Mill Ave, Charlies Phoenix, and BS West in Scottsdale. There are so many places to visit including the amazing Grand Canyon, Tempe Town Lake, and even Flagstaff if you want a change of scenery. I would say you should always check out Charlies Phoenix. They have an amazing staff and the people are always super friendly and inviting. Another great place is Mill Ave. You can meet so many new faces whether it’s just at dinner, or meeting up with some friends to ride a bull!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out a few people who have helped me in so many ways in my modeling career. The first person I would like to thank is one of my good friends Ellie Obin. She got me into the modeling industry and has supported me and pushed me through my entire career. She has set me up with many photographers and many other models. If it weren’t for her I may have never started modeling. I would also like to give a shoutout to my stepmother Kristine Truhlar. She has been my number one supporter throughout my journeys. I am able to send anything to her for questions and she always gives the best responses that always gets me through any situation and problem.
