We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Strempel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitlin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
While working in corporate for over a decade, I always had the itch to venture off on my own but never had the courage to actually make the leap. That all changed when I was faced with a life-altering experience.

When my first son was 2-months old we had to unexpectedly take him to the hospital for a heart procedure. It was weeks of pure fear, pain, and chaos going on with me emotionally. When we came out on the other side (he is a happy, healthy boy!) I took a long hard look at my life and could no longer unsee where I was underlining.

After facing real fear, I knew I had to bet on myself and do what I always wanted to do. I quickly started my own digital marketing agency and haven’t looked back since! After all, what’s a better thank you for your life than going BIG!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the CEO of Rising Ranks Digital. We are a fully women-ran SEO and digital strategy agency. We believe everyone has a message to share and it’s our duty to make sure that message can get found by the people who truly need to hear it. We have a 100% success rate at getting our clients to the top of Google.

Building a business has been an incredible learning and growth experience, personally and professionally. To get to where we are today, I had to learn how to delegate, let go of my Type A tendencies, and trust others to support the Rising Ranks Vision. I had to get my hands dirty with EVERYTHING in my business. I tried everything to figure out what worked best for our company, which helped us determine our path but also created a lot of “fails”, or rather learnings on what not to do.

When you become a client, you become a friend… and we want to see our friends succeed! We have a vested interest in all of our clients’ successes. And we like to work hard for the other passionate, hardworking business owners out there. We also just like really nice people!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love to host our friends! If they were to stay with us for a full week we would pull out all the stops.

Because we are in Phoenix, we would have some pool days at one of the amazing resorts around here. We would bike to brunch nearby (we love the Porch, OHSO, and Chestnut), go for a hike up Camelback Mountain, and end the night at a low-key rooftop bar, like The Flint… or go to the Jade Bar at the Sanctuary to see the beautiful Phoenix views.

Then we would take off for a few days to Sedona, stopping at Jerome on the way for a quick walkthrough town, a BBQ lunch, and a wine break at Cellar 433 while overlooking the Sedona mountains. Sedona would be filled with lots of outdoor adventures, wine tasting, and great meals.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A HUGE shout-out to my husband. When my business was first getting off the ground, I was wearing all the hats and working late hours and on the weekends. He never once questioned why he was the only one on parent duty on a Saturday. He started to help with meals, laundry, and school drop-off. He picked up where I was slacking and has always been my biggest cheerleader.
