Meet Carlene Leier | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlene Leier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlene, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At the Demi Cup, my mission goes beyond beautiful lingerie, we exist to uplift and empower women at every stage of their life. I believe in the power of community and connection. Whether its through local events, partnerships, or simply creating a space where women can be themselves, the Demi Cup adds value by inspiring confidence, encouraging self- love, and supporting women- owned businesses and initiatives. We see women everyday who have gained weight, lost weight, been through a rough time, or often struggling or survivors of breast cancer, and at the Demi cup, we want women to know we have their back.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Demi Cup is a luxury lingerie, swimwear, and activewear boutique in Scottsdale built on one simple belief: when a woman feels confident in her own skin, she shows up differently in the world. What sets us apart isn’t just the brands we carry — it’s the experience. We specialize in expert bra fittings, body-positive support, and a level of care that reminds women they deserve quality, comfort, and confidence at every age and stage of life.
I took over the business in 2024 from its founder, Linda Shaw, who built an incredible foundation and loyal client base. The transition wasn’t easy — buying a boutique in a competitive retail market while learning the industry from the inside out pushed me to grow fast. But I believed in the mission, I believed in the women we serve, and I refused to let fear be louder than purpose.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned:
• Community matters more than transactions. When you serve people, not numbers, the business grows with heart.
• Women don’t need more clothes — they need places that see them. We became that place.
• The right fit, literally and figuratively, changes everything.
What I’m most proud of is that The Demi Cup isn’t just a store — it’s a space where women leave standing taller, feeling supported, and sometimes even healed. Our brand is not about selling lingerie, it’s about restoring confidence, one fitting at a time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the things I love most about Scottsdale is how it blends fun, culture, style, and community all in one place. I’m a huge fan of Topgolf — it’s one of my favorite ways to relax, be a little competitive, and enjoy time with friends or family. When I’m in the mood for great food, nothing beats dinner at Mastro’s City Hall. The atmosphere, the service, and of course the butter cake — it never disappoints.
I love fashion and shopping, so Scottsdale Fashion Square is one of my go-to spots to get inspired, explore new brands, or just enjoy the luxury retail scene. I also love taking in the arts — concerts, plays, and live performances at Arizona State always give me that creative recharge. And when I want something a little slower and more scenic, walking around Old Town Scottsdale is my perfect reset. The mix of history, galleries, boutiques, and that Western-meets-modern vibe is something I never get tired of.
And of course, Scottsdale knows how to do events. From cheering at hockey games to soaking in the energy of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, there’s always something happening that brings people together.
A perfect day is a beautiful hike up Camelback Mountain, followed by a patio lunch in old town Scottsdale at the Montauk…. And of course an afternoon shopping trip to the Demi Cup to find the perfect fit!
Great food, great weather, great energy, and endless things to do — that’s what makes Scottsdale feel like home to me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to Linda Shaw, the woman who not only built the Demi Cup, but believed in me enough to pass it on. Linda didn’t just sell me a business, she mentored, trained me, and trusted me with the incredible client base she spent years nurturing. Her guidance, and example of what it means to serve women with heart and integrity laid the foundation I am building today. Linda empowered me, and now I get to pay that forward everyday through the women I help. I am deeply grateful for her leadership, her loyalty and the legacy she allowed me to continue.
