We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanel Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chanel, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal for me is to be able to show my kids that all things are possible with faith and patience and I want to have multiple franchises of Mommie Cakes around the world and I want to have my entrepreneur youth mentor baking classes nationwide where I travel and host these classes to students I want to have my cakes in luxury magazines/catalogs professionally at the end of it all I just want to tell my story and use that to inspire others to be The best version of them self and to live their best life
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is I make my signature cakes and unique desserts and I am the only Mommie cakes in the world. I am so excited about my youth mentor baking classes where I teach the youth basic baking skills from start to finish how to turn there passion into success how to be young entrepreneurs the ends and outs of being a business owner social skills build confidence and self esteem learn life skills and build long lasting friendships. Getting to this point in my life professionally was definitely not easy I had a lot of trails and tribulations and set backs I overcame a lot of things just by having faith and patients and learning that everything happens for a reason and I never gave up on myself. I learned over the years that you have to have confidence in yourself and passion if you don’t believe nobody will and to never give up stay strong along the way and see your vision clear know exactly what you want and believe it will happen. I would like people to no that I tell my story though my cakes I found my passion and this is a unique way that I can express myself. I am 30 years old mother of 5 and have been through a lot life hit me fast but I never gave up I would like to inspire young entrepreneurs and give them hope that anything is possible I am not just a bakery I am a brand that will live on forever. my business is dedicated to my grandmother fay Cheatham. God family first Mommie cakes
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first place I would take Friends that came out to visit is my favorite breakfast spot is called breakfast bitch in Phoenix then we would hit A mountain to look at the great view later we would hit up Tempe town lake and get a boat ride for drinks we would hit up modern social in Tempe I absolutely love this place then that night we would hit up hubby bubby hookah lounge in Tempe the best place to dance meet new people and hookah a couple others spots that I like our loyalty lounge off the hook Sunday’s and golden Margarita all hot spots
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to my children I thank them for giving me the support and love that is needed to keep pushing/moving forward towards my goals and passion they inspire me to be the best I can be
