We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Schille and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me it’s a feeling. Anytime you can look back on your day and feel good about what you’ve done you have to call it a success. Each day is different and that’s the beauty of it. Some days are easy and others not so much, if you can find something in each one of them to feel good about I’d say that’s a success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Unique custom clothing for anyone is the best way to sum it up. My favourite part of this work is being able to show people how far they can go with their style. When I first started I thought I had a good grasp of the details involved, I didn’t. I learn something new every day and that makes it fun. My excitement comes from a clients reaction to a finished product. I know I’ve done my job when I see how happy they are with what we’ve both created. I’ve had a great teacher my entire life to get to this point, nothing about it is easy, where’s the fun in that? I overcome challenges by creating them for myself. I ‘test’ a lot of my custom ideas on myself, I find that’s the best way to learn what’s best, gives me a lot of clothing but not always something I’d wear in public 😉
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The way I plan things they better be well rested. Being a sports guy it’s easy to be occupied here. A week would give us time to play all my favourite golf courses. Troon North, The Boulders, Camelback. You can’t go wrong with food here and I’m sure I haven’t even tried a fraction of it. OHSO would probably be my #1 pick for food, drink, atmosphere combination. You get it all, great patio, games, TVs and best of all. Dogs. If you haven’t been, go get the pilgrim, best sandwich on earth. At night I’m a hole in the wall type, gotta say Paradise Lounge. For something more lively I’d go to Copper Blues, great live music! Depending on the time of year, either the Cardinals, DBacks, Coyotes or Suns.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents have always been the ones that make it possible for me to do what I do. I’ve been very fortunate throughout my life being able to go after things I care about, without their support and understanding along the way I don’t know where I’d be. My sister is my number one fan, always the first to comment on my posts.
