We had the good fortune of connecting with Christen Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christen, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Creating content and trying to produce that piece that you think will for sure bring in the followers, and brand deals then boom! Your hard work gets like 20 likes, or 10 views. It’s disheartening, right? But what keeps me going is those 20 likes and 10 views! Someone appreciates my content, someone is cheering for me and wanting to see my creative. I didn’t start a YouTube or my Instagram with the intention of making money or fame. It was for me, my outlet to be creative and my hobby I decided to share with others, and if it just happens to resonate with a bigger audience then great! If not, then I’m going to keep going with the reminder that I’m being authentically me for whoever gets to see this, and enjoys it!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My professional career is teaching! As an educator I am reminded of daily challenges in our education system, especially post Covid/remote learning! I started to content create to offset the mundane routine of a Monday – Friday during Covid and being remote in December of 2020. My first YouTube video was a vlog and after that I was in love with the thought of filming, editing and engaging with those who had watched my content!

It is NOT easy being consistent while working a full time job. I have gotten into a groove and batched created in an attempt to have things to post, then found myself exhausted! With no time to enjoy my family or just chill before I jumped back into that M-F routine again.

I’ve learned that this is just fun for me and to not take myself so serious because that’s what makes me not wanna do it. When I’m being me, vibing to R&B, have some new products, I’m like “let film something today!”

My story is just, I’m a wife and a mom but I’m still a baddie! Lol and I try to share things for other mamas and wives with a full time jobs, that hey, baddie on a budget? I got you! Skincare tips? I’m not a professional, but I got you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
What’s crazy is I’ve only been living in Arizona for about 4 years, so I know I haven’t seen everything there is to see in the city! I will say, Scottsdale has some gems! We are gonna do brunch DUH. I’ve also come to love a good board and there are a few places I’ve tried with creative boards and wines. It’s Arizona, so we gotta go see some of the mountain trails and the views! Obsessed !

One of my favorite places to go is WestGate. There’s something for everybody and the vibes are dope near the fountains.

If it’s football season, the Cardinal fans are out there and it’s lit.

The last thing I’d say is a must, another vibe is Tempe marketplace. Again, good food, shopping and a nice vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My person who supports, shares and encourages my content is my husband, Kirt! Love you babe
