We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, what’s your definition for success?
Webster dictionary defines SUCCESS as “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” But the path to success isn’t always a straight line. Success to me has been a very winding path that has had many obstacles. Success for me would be similar to Webster’s definition only with the exception that it is never ending, because when you reach your “aim” or “purpose” there’s always another purpose that presents itself. The only way to be successful is to continue to grow and learn, and as you do that you, you will see small amounts of success along that winding road. So for me, success is never achieved but the opportunity to be successful pushes me everyday to achieve new heights.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a senior Loan officer at Rocket Mortgage. I have been nominated for a company award this past year called Rock Honors. It was for Best execution in a rookie banker roll. It was not easy at all. I had never had a finance background, so learning all of it and doing the trainings were very difficult. I fell on my face a bunch of times. The only way I could overcome these challenges is by keeping my eye on the prize, Knowing that I could build I life that I could hang my hat on.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You can’t come to the city and not catch a Phoenix suns or Diamondbacks game.
After the game hitting up Copper Blues for a couple of good drinks and live music is a must also! The hiking here in Phoenix is 2nd to none. Camelback mountain has some of the best views of the downtown skyline. And did you really come to Phoenix if you don’t check out the botanical Garden in Papago Park. Great dinner spots I love are Mastros and Toca Madera.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be able to accomplish everything that I have without my Mom and Dad and of course my best friends Terence & Kara Hinton, and Israel Lamprakes.
When times get tough and your backs against the wall you need a good support system to lean on.
