We had the good fortune of connecting with Cidic Vicious and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cidic, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started writing lyric/poetry back in 4-5th grade, once I graduated from grade school to Middle school my graduation gift was a acoustic guitar that I’d been asking for. Once I got that I started learning on my own, and after that over the years played in many bands but nothing serious. I started eED music (everything Else Dies but the music) back in 2009 at a hopeless point in my life. Rather than giving up and taking the wrong roads in life, I devoted myself to this music idea and promised I’d never give up until I was my own boss. Aside from that, around that time I felt music was in a bit of a transition phase/finding it’s new identity. I saw that as a perfect time to insert myself into the community full force. And I haven’t looked back, it’s actually been the best choice I’ve made thus far when it comes to personal fulfillment.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always wanted to be asked these questions let me start off by saying that. What sets me apart from other artist….there’s several things. There’s a dedication here to the people, to the little guy. To the workers who break there backs and minds to provide, and build what we have around us. Call it the struggle we’ve all endured but I’ve always felt it was needed for us to have a strong voice…EVERY generation. I look up to and study those who have come before me to be mindful, and motivated for the right reasons, for the right causes. SELF BELIEF! Which goes hand and hand to me. BELIEF in one’s self, that’s what got me here….that’s what keeps me strong. If you don’t believe in you, nobody will. So I preach that belief into every spirit I encounter. We are all Kings, and Queens….we just need to walk in it. That’s something this music gives to me, I found my crown in the freedom of creativity and due to that I feel it’s my duty to return the favor by speaking these positive things into anyone that’ll listen. I’ve been blessed to be shown my path and mission in life, and no! It’s not always easy, anyone who knows the life of a musician on the come up, actress/actor on the come up….the arts lifestyle is never easy. I’ve slept on floors, in my car, more couches than I can remember, all to get here. A beautiful lesson I’ve learned is to stay positive, and keep your eye on the prize. Just keep going, and eventually….when you least expect it…..POW, RIGHT IN THBE KISSER! Lol, you’re there!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m still new to Arizona so I’m not too familiar yet with the area and hot spots. I do know I plan on visiting Antelope Canyon really soon, I’ve heard about Sedona so I’d like to visit there as well. With that being said, I’m definitely open to suggestions if you ever want to reach out with some good choices and I’ll add it to the list. I’ve been here almost 5 years, and plan on setting roots here so I’d be nice.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I have to thank my Lord and Savior for keeping me all these years, giving me the talent and motivation to see this through this far. My beautiful Wife Joan Thomas who encourages me daily, my Cousin Corey Goodall ( Neon ) who is also my music partner. Lastly every person that believes in me, supports me and helps spread this message of Motivation, self esteem and empowerment. It’s time to give some life to the people!
