Meet Ciera Glenn | CEO, Feisty Farmer, Badass

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciera Glenn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ciera, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There was no thought. It was a hip shot decision, that somehow we got here.
Actually, let’s be real, someone told us that our farm would never amount to anything and that was the fuel to our fire. It went from selling eggs to our neighbor, to be randomly being asked by a local photographer to rent our tall grassy field to conduct photoshoots during Covid (because the local parks were all closed). This them rolled into the photographer telling five of her friends, and bam one week later we were a full fledge photo venue. Then we were asked to host a birthday party, and then bam we were hosting 5-9 birthday parties every weekend, and business has only accelerated for us.
We have prided ourselves on always being a place for where memories & community can be made.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our story isn’t traditional, whatever that even means anymore. We don’t fit the mold, nor would we ever want to. Some say we don’t know how to do life slowly; this pandemic solidifies that statement. We spent most of the quarantine dreaming of our future and eating too many Oreos. Finally, after countless hours of research, endless home tours, and obsessing over specific home designs, we put our dreams on paper, and our future came to life. In August 2020, we escaped city life and purchased our three-acre farm. Overnight it felt like we became farmers, and we love every minute of freedom it has provided us. Our property carries a story from 1904, and we hope to carry on its legacy of teamwork, perseverance, and dreams.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop: breakfast! The most important meal of the day and we are heading to Farine. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
Some of our favorite spots in town are:
Riding mountain bikes at Duthie
Visiting Downtown Snoqualmie
Big Picture Theater for date night!
Salmon Days in downtown Issaquah
We are active community members and there is always something fun in downtown Issaquah.
For lunch: The Well & Table – hands down the best burger you will ever have!
Dinner: Aji Sushi, hands down the best sushi in the USA, and trust us, we have traveled.
We love it here, because people are nice, full of life and driven.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Claire Raphael, for going above & beyond to seeing us be a success. Your kindness and support is unmatched.
To Ciera’s parents, you have loved us in the good, bad and ugly. These two farmers could never ask for better cheerleaders. Thank you for believing in us, when no one else did.
To Ciera’s family, you have parked cars, sourced items for the farm, tagged us in inspiration, and been our sounding board when things got tough. We love you guys.
