We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Betscher and Aerin Shaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole & Aerin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We got really into crystals together last year and realized how much other sellers were up charging their products, so we decided to come together and create a more affordable crystal shop for beginner collectors who can’t always afford large, expensive pieces.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I feel like what sets us apart from other crystal sellers is our connection to the community. We try to remain active and always communicate and talk to our customers and we have made so many friends for life out of this business. We started out as just buyers from some of our favorite stores and they truly inspired us to work hard and build our own brand. We are two college students who are in school full-time, so the work / life balance is always difficult, but we’re able to make it work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Papago park is one of our go-tos for hiking. It’s such an easy hike with the most beautiful views of the city. For food, we always recommend Beach House or Joyride for the best tacos and burritos. Our favorite crystal store in the city is Fantasia as they have the absolute best selection of candles, herbs and crystals!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d like to shoutout Emma Lehtinen Beamon for being one of our first supporters in this venture. She has been with us since the beginning and always gives the best energy. To our friends and family, we appreciate how much you support us in this adventure and how much you are always there for us.
