We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindi Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cindi, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
As an overachiever, I am no stranger to hard work and determination. In fact, one word- grit- can really describe what has helped me find success in my career in in my life. The dream doesn’t work if I don’t put in the work.
Consistently showing up- even when it is hard- makes all the difference. I have found a lot or people have dreams and aspirations, but really struggle when it comes to the consistency needed to manifest their dreams. That said, my definition of success has changed over time. I no longer trade my time for dollars. I work really hard for to have the things I want in life- and to experience freedom from the 9-5 (or 8-8) that I knew as a corporate employee. I have been an entrepreneur for over 8 years now, and have created a life filled with much more abundance than I knew before. I work hard, but I have freedom. I measure my success by the moments I have with my family and friends. Wealth to me is now about my experiences. A nice house and a car- all yes- BUT there is so much more. The ability to travel, be present with my kids, enjoy spa days with my bestie- those are things that I measure success with.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started out climbing the corporate ladder and having great success at a young age. I learned that with focus and hard work I could achieve whatever I put my mind to. When I became a mom, I realized that I was missing a lot of moments because I was trading my time for dollars in the corporate world. I knew I wanted to be more present as a parent but I also didn’t want that to define me. I still wanted to have a successful career and I didn’t want to choose. I partnered with an organic superfood manufacturer and built a huge business online helping other people have access to premium nutrition. I have now helped thousands of people change their life. Some people thought I was crazy to leave a successful career and start over but I was challenged to prove them wrong. Now I am making a greater impact than ever before.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend comes to visit we love to go to the spa! Two of our favorites are the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. We could spend days there! We also love to go hiking and explore all the beauty in Arizona. Sedona is such a magical place for that. There is nothing like dinner at the best restaurant in town, which in my opinion is Cafe Monarch. The food, the service and the ambience are incredible! We also love to spend time in Old Town (The Mission) and at Scottsdale Quarter/Kierland. So many great places to enjoy.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to every mom out there showing up consistently every day juggling their kids and their business determined to be the best at both. I always want my kids to be my reason, never an excuse.
