Hi clark, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success would have to be the consistency in believing in myself, and my work. Once I gained the confidence to believe in what I do and the product that I have, I was able to confidently push my brand more. As my branding began to be noticed, I started to see and hear about it more throughout phoenix and other surrounding areas.
What should our readers know about your business?
RookiefreshBarbershop Is a family oriented shop that thrives on the inclusion of our community. We love to have all walks of life coming into the shop to converse with and make them feel welcome. Our services are the best because we take our time to hear and execute what the client desires. We stand out by allowing our clients to set appointments, keeping our word by being on time, and our great atmosphere. Mothers, fathers, and children all can feel welcome as we play family friendly music and dynamic/ educational conversations that everyone can enjoy. I’m most proud of our team of barbers that go above and beyond for the clients to be sure that they leave satisfied. This is something that we take very seriously. Our road to success was not easy due to the competitive area that we are planted it but we were able to overcome and rise above the competition by offfering versetile styles and being able to cut all ethnicities and ages when they come through. So far I have learned to be patient with the progression of growth and be satisfied with the way things are going in the moment. I sometimes get sidetracked and think i want to be further than I am and forget to stop and enjoy how far I have already made it. Rookiefresh Barbershop aims to be an industry standard by bringing back the old-school barbershop feel but with a modern touch of class and appeal for all people to enjoy. Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Honestly I am still very new to Phoenix but if I had to map out a few things to do that would allow some winding down I would have to say that my favorite place for scenery is taking a drive out to Sedona and taking a jeep tour to view the beautiful red mountainsand explore the sacred Indian culture there. Often times I like to sneak out to Top Golf to relax and let of some steam. I have a few favorite food spots. Breakfast in scottsdale is amazing! Heading out to butterfields Pancake House has the best OJ and omlettes! For lunch i like to stop over at Sandwich Masters in Goodyear, they have over 100 sandwich variations to choose from so it never gets old. If we are going to be fancy for dinner then I will say that Flemmings is my favorite place to get all dressed up to eat dinner. Unfortunately I haven’t been out to any of the events just yet so I’m excited for COVID to be over and check out some Games and concerts in the upcoming years.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I would like to give a big shout out to my wife Laneesha. She is the backbone of my success. without her Rookiefesh barbershop would not exist. She was the initial person who told me to pursue my dreams of becoming a barber. She took care of our family while working in the military to allow me to go to school and get my License! My Parents who also gave me all of the support I could need in my growth process. My close friend and brother, Louis Walker who is arguably my biggest fan and mentor! He often helps me decide with business decisions, gives me fresh perspectives on issues I deal with. My Phoenix family Donivyn, Chaney, Greg, Saryta and the gang! They are the best family away from family that I could have! they supported me while building my dream by giving me leads and ideas to grow my business
