Meet Colleen Biggs: Pioneer of change for Women

We had the good fortune of connecting with Colleen Biggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Colleen, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is other supportive women. The success of Lead Up for Women has solely been in my drive and passion to lift all women by being the example and in return having them lift me. We can walk through life ignoring the fact that women judge, compete, and downright fight over some of the most trivial topics, or we can agree to own the truth and take charge to make a significant change to how women work together. Lead Up for Women was born with this in mind. How can we create an accepting world, disrupt the current landscape, and instill lasting change for women to dominate the entrepreneurial market? That’s where my journey began!

What should our readers know about your business?
I set out on a journey a few years ago to change the landscape by which we view women in business today. The problem today is the deficiency of strong female voices in the workplace and as entrepreneurs. With only 30% of Women owning & Starting business vs. the overwhelming 70% of men-owned businesses, women MUST disrupt the current landscape to create lasting change for all generations of women. How do we do that in today’s over-saturated social media platforms? We must join forces to speak up and lead up! I provide women a community of entrepreneurs that are driven by their passions, support, and promote with a purpose to fuel female voices with power. My community boasts tens of thousands of female entrepreneurs that are pioneering the way for women world-wide to dominate the entrepreneurial market. After launching over 300 businesses I shifted my sights to empowering women to take bold action to lead the way as entrepreneurs through community, promotional opportunities, and using their authentic voice to attract more clients and expand their circle of influence.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Arizona, in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, that is! If you are from Arizona or have lived here for over 40 years as I have, you never state you love the summers, because let’s face it, we don’t! But the 10 months out of the year that you can enjoy the outside is blissful! Arizona is full of hiking spots to visit year-round. Camelback is my favorite place to hike, next up and a VERY close second is the Superstition Mountains. We have breath-taking views from most mountains and our Mexican food is as authentic and tasty as ever! If I had a visitor from out of town, I would take them hiking and finish up the day with a Margarita and a bean burrito!  

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the immense support of other women that open doors for me, introduce me, support me, and lift me to allow me the space to soar! Foxy Women, Speakertunity, Carey Conley, Mel Car with Cloversy, and my Coach Jean Kuhn, have played an intricate role in providing me the clarity and partnerships I need to have the strength to spearhead this charge of change!
