Meet Crystal Arvizu | Owner & Creator Of Vizal Skin Scrub

We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Arvizu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I am known for my famous words “Que Chispas” which means Sparks in spanish. Que Chispas describes the woman I am, a strong successful woman with fire and sparks. Equipped with the skills and knowledge, which were gained through self drive and self intensive training. I’m simply just chasing my Spark. It’s My motivation to inspire others and be a role model for my daughters.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Growing up, I encountered many personal challenges, but I was determined to overcome each and every obstacle. Soon, I found myself going into the business world. I had a hunger and drive to succeed. This drive was given to me to become the best I can be. I am a mother of four beautiful girls, and I am determined to teach them confidence, strength, and independence. I have been recognized for my motivation and drive in every aspect of life, which helped me to become a stronger and better woman. When I began my journey in 2005 as an esthetician, there was an opportunity to learn how to make my natural skincare products. I experimented with many ingredients and I found this oatmeal-based formula that helped me with my acne-tic skin. I was very insecure because of my acne. These ingredients started to calm my skin and started to fade my scarring over time. Through the years, I would give it to clients and friends to help their inflammation and to help exfoliate dry, rough skin. These ingredients all together were amazing and made the scrub better. After years of trying different combinations, I came up with four different products that work best in their own way. Original, lavender, coffee and charcoal, are all unique and provide different benefits. My passion has brought me to where I am today and continues to push me to improve and help everyone with their skin. After countless hours of looking for a name and after many attempts at different ideas, I decided to name it after my older daughters. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have pushed myself to create this. They are my drive and who I was doing this for. Their names are Vieonca and Azalea. I put them together and came up with VIZAL. I was encouraged to start bottling the product for retail. It was a success in a small way for me. I was very proud and excited to be an entrepreneur. I started working at a new salon in 2016, and I was invited to be in a Women’s conference event. I was asked to give a class and was asked to have samples of something for the people who took the class. I thought of my scrub. I came home and was sharing this with my sister and a friend. He said he would invest and support my scrub to help me make extra income for my family. I was excited and overwhelmed as we had one month to launch Vizal. This is when we jumped in, bought the ingredients, bottles and labels. The event was a huge success. 1 year later. I met a business connection who showed me the capability of the internet to put my products out into the world to share with everyone, instead of just our local community. I then began networking and having my product at different events. As time passed, I met a marketing expert who trained me on marketing, creating logos and now websites. Which has its challenging moments, but it’s a field I am excited to learn. With my training, I can now implement and utilize my knowledge to improve Vizal Skin Scrub.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Time for adventure, fun, relaxation and introducing you to my favorite spots in the city.

Lets zen on Wednesday eve at FIT boutique for some yoga to stretch and release stress, then go across the street to The HUB for Wings Tots and Procecco. Perfect environment to reflect and enjoy great food and drinks.

Spa day at Turn Downtown Spa. Enjoy a Body scrub or Signature facial to rejuvenate, refresh and rebalance.

Brunch at Prep & Pastry with Mimosas, amazing food and great environment to enjoy great company and conversation.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Vizal Skin Scrub wouldn’t be here without the grace of God and all the people I have encountered along the way. These include friends, family, and acquaintances that I met along the way.. During the beginning phases of the creation of Vizal Skin Scrub, I had the privilege of hearing testimonies about the impact and difference the scrub made on their skin, which motivated me to push forward because I was helping people. I appreciate my daughters Vieonca, Azalea, Sofia and Liliana for driving me with inspiration!
