We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Cordner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniela, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
You should always keep going. We all have bad days but we can change our thoughts. If you think you want to give up, take a break and step back. Do something that makes you feel good then go back and keep going. Change your thoughts, and your mood can change. Change your habits and your life can change.
You will know you should keep going if what you are doing fuels the fire inside of you. I have had many times where I want to give up but I know that is just a moment in time where I need a break. Many people want to give up in a bad moment, when the overwhelm comes rolling in, that should just be our cue to take a step back. You can redirect, refuel, or go a different course. But never give up.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I absolutely love creating balloon art. The celebrations are always the best part. I’m so big on CELEBRATING EVERYTHING. Life is short so adding balloons and making every celebration bigger is the best business on earth.
I created this business solely on social media and the creative outlet and marketing social media gives us is incomparable. I am blown away that my brand, “The Balloon Mom” has become such an inspiration to others.
There is a part of social media that can make people feel bad about themselves or always in comparison. I am creating my brand to be authentic and as reel as possible. I don’t think that you have to post every day to grow but I know you have to be consistent and show up as your true self. People will either like you or not. But that is not for you to decide. As long as you give your best self and never give up, nothing else should matter.
I am excited to launch some courses this year for inspiring balloon artists to be, how-to’s, social media crash courses, and a few products for customers who would like to DIY. I will continue to offer a large range of pricing options for all families, all kinds of celebrations, and corporate events. Looking forward to Celebrating Everything with you!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The top reason we live in Arizona is for the great outdoors! So I would definitely take them to explore different mountain ranges in the city. Short or long hikes are definitely my jam.
Old Town Scottsdale boutique shopping one afternoon, a stop in Cricket and Ruby for some cute outfits for the kids, then a patio lunch at Olive and Ivy. Breakfast at Butters is a must. Downtown Gilbert one day for a stroll and some prickly pear ice cream at Topo, then another favorite kids boutique Joss+J. A night out at The White Rabbit (a Gilbert Speakeasy). Karma Apple Juicery the next day for a smoothie bowl, then an afternoon at The Queen Creek Olive Mill. Before they leave I would certainly have to host a night in with balloons, friends and good food!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My sister, Maya Nahra has been a big inspiration to me over the years. She has had many hardships overtime and has never given up. She is a Registered Dietitian specializing in behavior change weight loss. She has had many business redirections and obstacles but always keeps going. Her business is built on helping others change for the best. Many times our bad thoughts are creating bad habits. Her Habit based nutrition coaching helps in every area of your life. I definitely look up to her not only as a business owner but a big sister. Creating goals and crushing them every single day.
