We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Levy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I don’t believe in giving up. If it’s something you want, then you should always go for it. If you don’t seem to be accomplishing your goal, then ask for help. Seek those out who have succeeded where you have failed and ask for advice. There is always someone out there willing to give guidance and support. Reevaluate your goal and take a different approach. Never give up.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I manage Chula Seafood at Uptown Plaza, which is considered to be the best seafood market/restaurant in Phoenix. I also have a food blog where I showcase some of the best local cuisine in Phoenix and all over. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, which helps sets me apart from others. People don’t know how hard of an industry this is to be in, especially with Covid happening. How much work and dedication goes into having a successful restaurant. The more you can support local small restaurants/businesses , the more your community can grow and be successful. Please help to always support local. And always tip.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So much to do in Phoenix. We could head to the Botanical Gardens. Phoenix Art Museum, Wonderspaces, the zoo. We could take a day trip to Sedona or Flagstaff. Great spots in Flagstaff. For restaurants in town we would go to Chula Seafood or Hush Public House, my favorite restaurant in town. Do an East valley tour for the best Asian spots. Head downtown to grab drinks at Gracies or Killer Whale Sex Club, which means some delicious food from the Deez Buns boys. Or just take a relaxing walk through the Japanese Friendship Garden.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout will always belong to my amazing parents. They have always given me unconditional love and support and have encouraged me my whole life to do what makes me happy. Plus, they both are huge foodies and have exposed me to some incredible food/dining experiences since I was little. That influence helped create my love of food and the restaurant industry and to continue to seek out all the delicious things this world has to offer.
