Hi David Barker and Barbara Barker, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My services offer homeowners a way out. I work with homeowners in pre-foreclosure. It’s not at all an easy thing to witness someone’s life fall apart, not only in front of your own eyes, but their own eyes as well. We help our community by listing their property for sale at a competitive price so they can maintain some of their equity. Most people don’t even know that they can relieve themselves of their mortgage in default via Realtor. It’s likely that a bank will work with us because the reality is that it costs a trustee (a bank) money to maintain a home and list it for auction.

All it takes is a phone call!

What should our readers know about your business?
I work on a real estate team called “The Barbara Barker Team | The Family of Realtors at AZ Key Realty”. We understand the concept of our fiduciary obligations when we represent our clients, we ensure to cross every “T” and dot every “I”. We also provide exceptional customer service by finding our clients the right house and getting them out of their old one! Our team is on track for being multi-million dollar producers, and there’s no signs of slowing down!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Raising Cane’s as a quick and easy favorite! However we understand that some people want more of a “sit-down” restaurant! For that, I would recommend Stone & Vine on the corner of Alma School & Queen Creek! The Keg near the San Tan Mall is a favorite, too! Downtown Gilbert and Downtown Chandler are both beautiful places to stroll and shop as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shout out is dedicated to Barbara Barker, my mother! Without her, I wouldn’t have even considered being a real estate investor or a real estate agent as a path of career. I believe I’ve been granted career path insight at a young age because of her career path and it has inspired me to move forward following in her footsteps. I remember when she would hand me and my sister a blank contract… “Fill it out” she said. Then she would review the contract and teach us to ins and outs of these contracts.
