We had the good fortune of connecting with Michaela Veltri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michaela, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes, I do, it is one by Maya Angelou. “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But People will never forget how you made them feel!” I think the quote says it all. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Humans run on feelings and will never forget how someone made us feel for the rest our live.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am NCEA Nationally Certified, which is equivalent to a Master Esthetician. NCEA Certified represents the highest skin care credential available in the United States. My specialized training and certifications in Oncology and Advanced Paramedical Aesthetics allow me to work with cancer patients who need extra TLC. I specialize in advanced techniques and treatments for Acne, Hyperpigmentation, and Age Management, including laser treatments. It raises the bar in my profession, and my clients deserve nothing less. Treating a client is not a given; it’s a privilege! My age and experience might be another one. I just turned 50. So, I know what young skin goes through because I have been there, and well, yes, I know what the more seasoned skin needs because I am going through it. Challenges help us grow, and whether we accounter them in life or business, I have never looked at them as a negative. Sometimes I have to get uncomfortable to get comfortable. What I have learned is, I know how to add value to my services, and that doesn’t mean I have to have every new toy on the market. Be yourself, and the rest will come.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a bit of a homebody and wish I was a little more explorative. My favorite place here in AZ is probably Sedona. It’s definitely worth the trip, and while there, I would take my friend to the Oak Creek Brewery. Their food is fantastic, and their different beers and drinks offered are fun. From there, I would go to the Grand Canyon and take my friend on a Helicopter Tour over the Grand Canyon. I know I was speechless the first time I got to experience it. My friend and I like to laugh a lot, so I would also include a trip to the Comedy Club during her stay. Some quiet girl catch-up time to talk about life is a must, maybe somewhere up North at a cabin in the woods.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d say my family is my most significant support. Sometimes my husband shakes his head when I have an idea, but in the end, he knows I can do whatever I put my mind to and backs me up 100%. Attitude is everything. My favorite book is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. It’s not always easy, but I try to live my life according to the four agreements.
