Meet Dee Fretwell | Fractional COO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee Fretwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting your own business comes with a need for separating your needs and your wants. A business is often started based on a deep passion or excitement around a particular service or product, but a sustainable business is built through consistency, commitment to strategy, and a realism about a passion and excitement.
What should our readers know about your business?
Well I’ve been in consulting for over 15 years. A few years ago I started my new company, The Life Dom. Initially it was a joke, as I was feeling frustrated with the way my world and workforce in front of me was perceiving doing a job. I joked how sometimes all anyone needs is a business dominatrix, somebody who could both be a life and business coach but do it in a strraight shooting, no fluff no buff, dominatrix sort of way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend came to Oregon to visit and wanted to see the sites, we’d be in the car quite a bit. This is the only state to boast both redwoods and mountains right up against each other, plus we have snow and desert, Hot Springs, and so much more. We also have many award-winning chefs in the state scattered just about everywhere and an incredible wine industry as well. No doubt we have a reputation for cannabis, but we also have a long-standing reputation for quality breweries. Share that with a Shakespeare festival in Ashland, you really won’t get bored here in Oregon.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this to my children, as they are at the forefront of reminding me that nothing is static. Innovation can come from the smallest of places and inspiration through their eyes has become imperative to my success.
