We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Chaidez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Desiree, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I think success is in a cluster of habits. I’m not sure if success is even the right word, but fulfillment. I’m sure it means a little something different to everyone, but to me it’s not a certain financial number earned, followers gained, or a certain number of clientele or patients. It’s not even in the busyness of my day. Success to me is living to your full potential and experiencing fulfillment as you do your thing. Quite honestly, I’m still working on this version of myself. I don’t think I’ll ever fully reach my capacity. This concept is what keeps me going and growing. I hope I’ll always have room for more.
Having passions, a drive for life and a purpose is important. It helps to habitually explore those things that motivate and keep me ticking. Passions and desires are like your baby. You must look after them, foster, water and think about them daily. Continuously, make tweaks and adjustments to develop and grow them. Consistency matters!
I also try to keep my passion focused on a greater purpose or good for society and people. I’ve always enjoyed doing artistic things and infatuated with science and all things beauty. Medical aesthetics is my medium to making an impact. I get great joy providing aesthetic services because I see how it can change a person. It’s not about a pretty face as much as it is changing people from within. I get to be a part of helping them empower themselves, increase confidence and be their best version. They make the choice and I just get the pleasure of being a part of it!
Being brave with your life and having the courage to take chances is also important. Inspire, let your mind wonder, and resist the urge to hold back. Instead, allow yourself to be vulnerable by taking steps in the direction of your dreams despite all the possible outcomes.
I’m also incredibly obsessed with details. Not necessarily perfection. I don’t want to be perfect because I think our imperfections make us relatable. However, it’s the obsession with details that drives one towards greatness. It’s in the details that sets one apart and drives you into becoming the best version of yourself.
Success is unique to everyone. As I grow into my own version, I will continue to strive to maintain healthy, productive habits such as motivation, bravery, passion, vulnerability, consistency and focus on the details that help to make me who I am.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a medical aesthetic provider, I have always looked at aesthetic nursing as so much more than Botox, fillers, and a pretty face. It’s about changing people from within. I get to create a safe space for people to feel vulnerable, increase confidence and help them empower themselves through the art of science and beauty. Many times, making small adjustments on the outside can lead to way bigger adjustments on the inside. No stigma attached, when people look good, they also feel good, and it shows in their aura. Being an aesthetic nurse is about having the ability to lift people up. Receiving treatment doesn’t represent a lack of confidence, but more about an increase in confidence.
Since first starting my career, I’ve always wanted to provide a natural approach to aesthetics. The goal is not to look different after injections but refreshed, like you got some great sleep and slow the aging process. Think of injectables as a way of helping you age more gracefully over the long haul. I don’t like talking anyone into doing treatments, but I will educate and provide you with options so you can decide what is best for you. Trust is important, and I enjoy taking time to connect with my patients, hear their story, and help them feel like the best version of themselves. I believe there is a tasteful way in providing treatments, not overdoing it. I find it empowering that we get to choose the way we age!
I provide a variety of non-invasive aesthetic treatments such as Botox/Dysport/Xeomin which helps to smooth out wrinkles and prevent deep, scar like lines; dermal fillers which soften skin folds, contours, and replace volume that has been lost with age. I’m also a huge advocate for bio-stimulators such as Sculptra, Radiesse, and PDO threads which help to stimulate your natural collagen production, help provide tissue structure, gradually revolumize and improve the integrity of your skin. Other popular treatments include platelet rich fibrin (PRF) which is 100% autologous, a growth factor serum derived from an individual’s own blood and aides in skin rejuvenation, wound healing, and hair growth.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I enjoy being close to home and supporting all our local small businesses on a weekly basis. Downtown Queen Creek and Downtown Gilbert have plenty of great restaurants and family friendly spaces. In Queen Creek, the Olive Mill has an awesome menu, family friendly environment with live music on the weekends. In Gilbert, you can’t go wrong starting out your day at Snooze and shopping at all the local businesses while in downtown. For more entertainment, my family and I also enjoy Schnepf Farms and Old Ellsworth Brewery.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I couldn’t do and be everything I love without the support of my family and mentors. In addition to having a career that I love, I’m a wife and a mother. My husband is a solid rock. If it wasn’t for his encouragement and willingness to pick up my slack around the house, be dad and mom some days, okay a lot of days, I don’t think I could have easily transitioned into entrepreneurship. He has always believed in me and supported my crazy dreams no matter how wild they appear. My kids push me to be better and remind me what it’s like to have that childlike faith and belief that anything is possible. There are days when I feel like I’m excelling in my work life and not so much in mom life. My kids are so resilient, and their love is unconditional. They have influenced me to do what I do. I refuse to leave them every day to go to a “job” I don’t love. I made the decision a long time ago, that they were worth me pursing my passions. I want to show them dreams are real, and they can be and do anything that sets their heart on fire. My parents have also instilled hard work and perseverance in me. They were great examples for me as I saw them continuously work hard and show up 100% to their own jobs. I’ve also worked at a variety of med spas, but particularly the owner of LaVida Med Spa, Muschi Morga, has been very instrumental in contributing to my growth. As an owner, boss who became a mentor and friend, she trusted me and allowed me to explore my potential, practice new skills and provided a safe space for me to continue to grow and learn. Working along with her, I was able to witness greatness in running and managing a business. There are so many other people that have shared pearls, offered advice and encouragement. I’ll be forever grateful for these encounters, friends, and mentors.
