We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Palm and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Early in my career, I was a classic over-giver. I donated so much of my time to helping people that I neglected my own business goals. This is a common mistake for those that work as spiritual healers, reiki practitioners, psychic mediums, massage therapists, and other energy healers. It also relates to empaths, mothers, and caregivers of every kind. Balance is one of the most challenging things for sensitive people to achieve in their life. It requires that you learn to self love when your nature calls you to self sacrifice.

I often felt guilty for taking time for myself when there was so much work to do and so many people in need of help. I frequently worked late and on my days off, which caused an imbalance in my home and family. This imbalance spilled over into my personal life as well, and had a negative impact on my physical health. I secretly thought that when everyone in my life was taken care of, that I would feel better too. However, this was far from true because there are always more people who need help and more work to do. When I realized that I needed to prioritize myself, it felt uncomfortable and maybe a little selfish. But I intuitively knew that there was a harmonious balance needing to be created within me.

I began to nurture my self through spending sacred solo time in nature, and a beautiful thing happened. My life came into balance, and my business grew. It seemed almost magical because it was so effortless! Not only that, but the quality of my clients improved, as well as their appreciation for my services. I experienced more harmonious relationships, more vitality, and felt happier.

Spending time in nature was the key to my success. It helped me shift my focus from the physical to the spiritual, and find the balance I was looking for. It also helped me align the energy of my head and heart to flow with more creativity and clarity. I achieved my balance through meditation, earthing practices, and sitting quietly by a body of water. It won’t matter if you struggle with meditation, because nature will do all the work for you. Spending time in nature can help clear out the daily distractions from your busy life, reduce stress hormones, increase serotonin, and assist you with getting back in rhythm with Mother Earth.

The more balance I felt within me, the more I experienced balance in other areas of my life. I became more comfortable charging for my services (a problem most spiritual practitioners have), and realized the worth of what I provided for my clients. In short, I learned to run my spiritual healing business as a business. This helped stabilize the foundation of my work, and allowed me to experience more balance every area of my life.

I have been a spiritual healer and teacher for over 30 years and can see how work life balance has directly led to my longevity and success. However, an even greater balance may be experienced when one aligns to the energy of their heart, and allows their spiritual energy to flow in their daily life. There will be times when your life is called out of balance through something that happens, an event, or a change in your relationship or job. It is perfectly normal and natural to experience a temporary imbalance while you grow into the next version of yourself. Imbalance can be the catalyst for your personal growth and expansion. Be kind to yourself. Trust that your balance will be restored if you pace yourself, allow yourself to grow, and feel appreciation for the journey. Spend time in nature and double down when there is greater need for balance. This will restore your spiritual connection and help you maintain greater balance as you move forward.

When you achieve true inner balance, you will also experience outer balance in the world around you. Repeat the affirmation, “My life is balanced, and my head and heart are in alignment now.”

My work as a spiritual healer has evolved significantly since I first began in 1995. It was on that fated trip to Bosnia, that a healing priest first taught me to clear negative entities to help people heal. Over the years, I learned many spiritual techniques that aided in my own healing as well as how I worked with clients. I delved deeper into the subconscious to re-pattern and reprogram limiting beliefs, increased my psychic and mediumship gifts, and healed land impacted by the trauma of war. As I moved massive amounts of dark energy from the collective, I found greater satisfaction in helping my clients to create new potentials for their future. My work with manifestation hedges on alignment and becoming a vibrational match for what one seeks. This has been a natural evolution, and while it is still necessary to sometimes move dark energy, the field has opened up for the collective to create within. All aspects of my work are rewarding…and I am constantly grateful for my journey as a spiritual healer because I get to see magical outcomes for my clients on a regular basis. Working as a spiritual healer has not been easy, although it has been inspiring, and wonderful, and aligned with my soul. I have been a constant work in progress…because the more healing I do, the more I am able to help my clients. I feel honored to share your sacred journey through life, and look forward to being of service to you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The desert here is rich with variety, from ancient ruins, to haunted towns, vineyards, and vortexes. There are a lot of fabulous places to eat, and vineyards for every pallet. I highly recommend renting an ATV and venturing out to Honanki Heritage Site and Palatki Heritage Site to view the ancient petroglyphs and cliff dwellings. There are ancient ruins at Tuzigoot, and a sacred burial mound nearby. My retreats are focused on healing, so I take people to a couple vortex sites, aligned with the energy for releasing and healing, as well as for manifesting new. Plus, there is a lot of live music for evenings full of fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank all my nature loving friends in Sedona who invite me to sunset drum circles and late night stargazing. It is a blessing to spend time with those who intentionally practice gratitude and value their connection to nature.
