Meet Dominique Wilson: Celebrity Impersonator and Cosplay Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique , what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is that at the end of the day people are pleased with my efforts. I have always enjoyed entertaining people and when I’ve done what makes people happy, I am satisfied. I always want to leave a lasting impression on everyone I come in contact with.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been celebrity impersonating since 2009 and it began as a tribute to Michael Jackson. I performed for local events and parades. My favorite moments included performing in Michael Jackson’s hometown, Gary, Indiana, and met his family. I’m also proud of when I was recognized as the first female Michael Jackson impersonator of my hometown, Newark, NJ. I began to branch off and impersonate other celebrities such as Janet Jackson, Prince, and Vanity. I began cosplaying in 2016 and I have dressed as several comic book and video game characters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to David C Grubbs. He is my companion and has been very supportive of me. We make a great time. We cosplay together and we also have a small photography business together, DGLW Photography.
