We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Ashley Froese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Being a physician can be challenging with work/life balance. It can also be frustrating to see patients in a 15 minute timeframe like many offices do. So, I wanted to design a clinic where I could have as much time as needed for all patients. This allows for my clinic to be a no-frustration zone. I don’t get frustrated about not having enough time with patients and vice versa. This way, my mental wellbeing is better, I can still pickup my kids from school every day, and my patients feel like they get the care they deserve.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My clinic is 100% cash pay, I don’t bill insurance in any way. The majority of my patients pay for a monthly membership so they can come in for a visit or call me directly whenever they need to. This breaks down all the barriers that people normally have with their doctors. It also allows for me to take better care of patients because I can take my time to get to know them well and understand what they want and need. Setting up a medical clinic this way is definitely not easy. I opened up the doors of the clinic 2 years ago with 6 patients. I now have 300+ patients, but it takes perseverance and a daily grind to get through those months of slow growth. It’s all worth it in the end to have happy patients who feel like they are cared for.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in the East Valley, so my favorite places are hiking the San Tan Mountains, getting a beer at Barnone or the Whining Pig, and smores at San Tan Flat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Bryce. Bryce has been with me through college, medical school, residency, and starting a new clinic. He has done all of this while we had two kids and he put himself through paramedic school and, recently, the Mesa Fire Academy.
