We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebonni Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ebonni, how do you think about risk?
What I think about risk is that it forces you to grow in areas that you were once uncomfortable in. I feel that taking a risk to be self employed played a tremendous role in my life when I walking away from my corporate job. Being a single mother of two boys and solely depending on my income from the company I worked for that was the scariest thing I have ever done. I knew that if I continued to live out someone else’s dream, mine was sure to die. Once I took the leap of faith to do Eb’s Delites full time, I felt the heaviest weight drop off of me. On my journey thus far it has truly had its ups and down but nothing beats living out my dreams and striving to reach my goals set
What should our readers know about your business?
Eb’s Delites is a bakery that specializes in custom cake and desserts for any occasion. What sets my business apart from the other bakeries is my unique flavors that I offer and my attention to detail and presentation. What I am the most excited about with my business is branching out on different platforms to provide baked goods to my community. My journey hasn’t been easy. I have had many days where my money was so tight it was challenging fo me to meet my monthly expenses just within the house. But I never gave up! I kept on working HARD to be innovative within the cake community. Some of the lessons that I have learned on my journey thus far are allow yourself to have some grace, know your worth, and always make sure you make time for those you love. Besides being a mother to my boys, being a baker is the BEST job I have ever had! I love the opportunity to be a part of lifetime memories for all those that I come in contact with on every order that I fill.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
OMG I am such a home body lol. But I would love to go and enjoy weekend in Sedona- the view, the scenery, and relaxation has my name written all over it. The night life in Phoenix would be awesome. Eating at Pointe of View and go out to enjoy some time at a nice lounge most definitely would be on the things to do list.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my amazing boys Dexter II and Harper for their unwaivering love and patience they show me daily as I strive to make a better life for us. My family and friends that have supported me since day one. To my mentor-friend-sista- Stephanie Vasquez I appreciate EVERYTHING you have poured into me to help me blossom and grow.
