We had the good fortune of connecting with Elijah Moon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elijah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Honesty and customer service. I usually ask our new customers what their complaint or concerns were with previous performance shops and most of them say they felt like the shops were over charging and telling them lies about what parts on the vehicle failed causing customers to pay more out of pocket. Honesty goes long ways, Once we can earn the customer’s trust by doing honest work and providing great customer service, they will always return. Its the same concept of restaurants, food may be good but if service is horrible then most likely customers will not return. But if the food is good and waiter /waitress provides good service as well then customers will always go back for more.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a automotive performance shop that specializes in Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions (Evos) in Phoenix, Arizona. I first started in a single car apartment garage 1st year. Neighbors started to complain about Evos taking up parking spaces. 2nd year I moved into a non-HOA house for more space but still ran into issues with neighbors complaining about loud cars and have a few sheriff’s check out my house thinking it was a “chop-shop”.

So 3rd year here I am finally decided to pull the trigger on opening up a business and have an official shop.

Honestly I was a little worried since I dont have any experience in owning a business and now have an additional over head to take care of. But now that I have a facility to work in peace, I was able to provide better services & quality. Staying humble & hungry is important, happy but not satisfied. Once you’re comfortable you stop trying.

Proud to have many customers come from out of state now such as California, New Mexico, Colorado, Illinois for engine builds turning a 300 horse power car to a 800+ horse power car.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Unfortunately, since Im so busy with work I dont have much personal life. Not really a party type either. My girlfriend owns a sushi restaurant in Glendale, AZ called Sushi Plus. So we would probably go there to eat.
I love driving up the south mountain in Phoenix to see the beautiful night view of Phoenix.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Phuong ( Wingz Performance) took me in and gave me a chance to learn under his wing when I was young & fresh out of automotive school. He could have gave up on me but he didnt. He dedicated a lot of his time and energy to train me personally for 3.5 years in order for me to gain most of the experience & knowledge. Without him I would not be here right now.

Geoff (Full-Race Motorsports), I got an opportunity to work at a local turbo kit manufacturing company called Full-Race Motorsports in Phoenix, AZ. Learned a lot with turbo kits, how they perform, and which turbo kit would be suitable with the vehicles I build. Matt (Service manager) & Jon (Sales Representative) was always guiding me in the right direction as well. Now many of our fastest & quickest Evos we build are on Full-Race turbo kits.
