We had the good fortune of connecting with Elsa (Jackie) Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elsa (Jackie), what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always wanted to be my own boss and to have my own business has always been a goal in my life, but so much would go through my head so I knew I had to take a risk and not be afraid to fail, I knew if a fail I would at least say I tried but if I didn’t try I felt like I was failing myself . Sometimes you just have to be a risk taker

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business was launched in August of last year , and it was the best thing I have done just yet . Being your own business owner is the best thing yet hard at the same time , you might wonder why we’ll … you grow friendships from people you might never meet the support you get from others is just amazing , but it gets hard when launching a new product just because you try to please your followers as well you try to launch something everyone likes so I would have to say that’s the hard part . Sometimes it gets hard in the eyelash industry but when you have support from your family or spouse it can get easy along the way , don’t feel like anyone is your competition because your only competition is you !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I lived in California for about 16 years and moved to Arizona 3 going on to 4 years now , and let me tell you Arizona has the best sunsets I have ever seen . So I would definitely take my best friend to my favorite Thai food place as well as my favorite seafood place, after that we will drive to Sedona and enjoy the amazing views and art it has .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The shout out would definitely have to go to my girlfriend, my best friend, my parter in crime . She has always supported every idea I have, every dream and goal I have . I cannot thank her enough for being there every step of the way, her support has meant so much to me . Thank you for being such a big support and being such a great partner
