Meet Eric/Glint | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric/Glint and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric/Glint, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing about creating content that outsiders are probably unaware of is the notion that I am playing video games all day long. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes, such as making sure your pc is working properly. There is a lot of planning and thought before you stream, or even upload a video. Technical issues arise sometimes out of the blue and you may have to fix these issues on the fly and try your best to look unbothered. People can see right through you if you are faking it to make it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I come from the generation of people who was told, you couldn’t and wouldn’t make any money from pursuing art and maybe they were right during that time period but things have changed. Because I was discouraged from pursuing art, after I finished my time with the Army, I went to school for accounting and absolutely hated it. Although I am still passionate about accounting, I would love to support more black families in learning how to better account for their money in the form of budgets, credit, and being able to change poverty. I left my accounting firm and continued creating content on platforms such as Twitch, TikTok and Youtube. Currently I am pursuing graphic design at Temple University located in Philadelphia. I learned that when you are a creative and need to create most of the day, denying yourself that type of fulfillment leaves you feeling dead. Now, I create in painting, drawing, sketching and playing different genres of games with my community. Some of this community I have been fortunate enough to meet in real life. This is my favorite thing about streaming and creating content; the friendships and bonds I have been able to foster.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are a few places they have to go just to say they have been and experienced it here in Philadelphia. In no particular order, everyone has to run up the Philadelphia Museum steps like Rocky Balboa; if the weather is nice, they also have to eat their first Rita’s Water Ice. They will never look at water ice or shaved ice the same. Instead of going to Geno’s or any of the touristy cheese steak places, I will take them right around the corner to the papi store so they can get a cheesesteak, topped with salt, pepper, ketchup and fried onions. I would also take them down to center city to see more historical sites that Philly has to offer; old city is very nice…good food, different restaurants and some bars to relax in. We also have some retro gaming stores as well as gaming bars to play retro games and to lounge as well. Our sports scene is always fun. (professional baseball, basketball, and football games) Go Sixers!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
SamiraiJack aka Samuel Jackson is a streamer who has been with me on my journey since day 1. We met in Korea when we were in the military and he is one of the most loyal, generous, and resilient young men I have ever met. I am grateful to have Sammie in my life and I can’t wait to see where his journey takes him.
