We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always admired my successful friends and colleagues who have jumped with both feet first into the world of Real Estate. The opportunity has always been in the forefront of my mind and when life recently handed me a certain set of circumstances, which included my sudden relocation to the Phoenix, Arizona area last year – I decided it was time to take the leap myself. I enjoy helping people immensely and providing the same standard of service that I expect when working with a company – so the more I learned about Real Estate specifically, it quickly became apparent that this is often the biggest transaction in my clients lives – what an honor to be trusted to guide and assist them in finding (or selling) their new home.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Realtor in the Phoenix, AZ area! What sets me apart is my attention to detail and deep, genuine care for the success of my clients. In such a “transaction based” industry, it is important – especially now, more than ever – to focus on providing excellent service and continuing to attend to any questions, concerns or problems that may arise throughout and beyond the term of a clients homeownership, sale and/or lease (within my area of expertise of course). Many clients have valid and deep concerns about how the NAR Commission Settlement will affect them, and if one is a Realtor, I think it is more than important to be ready to discuss and prove (and of course: consistently display and implement) the tremendous value we provide.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Phoenix is literally overflowing with amazing community events and things to do year round. Of course, if you love hiking and the great outdoors, there is an endless supply of trails not only in Phoenix, but within driving distance as well. One of my favorites is the Dragonfly Trail in Cave Creek, AZ, where you can hike among towering Saguaro Cacti, and in certain parts of the year, walk along a flowing creek bed. Of course, fun is also in great supply here with a number of amusement and water parks that are open during the Spring and Summer months. My favorite is Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Glendale, AZ: a wave pool, plenty of slides both for the adventurer and “not-so-adventurous” and a lazy river that will tire you out in the abundant Arizona Summer Sun! Also in Glendale, AZ and opening later this year: the Mattel Adventure Park with plenty of things to do based on everything from Barbie to Hot Wheels. For food – because Phoenix is a literal tapestry of cultures from around the globe – we are not in short supply of anything, from our local incredible Taco Trucks all the way up to fine dining establishments. I’ve got to thank a few people here for my success. They are – my real estate licensing teacher/coach & friend Christina Rogowski (with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Continuing Education) in Scottsdale, my longtime friend and mentor Ivan Estrada (with Douglas Elliman L.A.), the first man who hired me in Phoenix – Todd Lee, now with Epique Realty – and of course, my parents here in Phoenix. Without the belief and support of these friends, mentors and family – I absolutely could not be where I am today.
