We had the good fortune of connecting with Ernest Lerma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ernest, how does your business help the community?
At Waffle Forest our goal is to help reduce carbon emissions. We Create Green space which is our forest in dilapidated land typically in lower income and minorities like my self where i grew up. We are healing the land, beautifying the run down area, Cleaning the air. Numerous studies show developing natural green spaces has a measurably positive effect on the health of individuals, families, and communities. Waffle Forest is a 501C3

What should our readers know about your business?
Waffle Forest is an eco-friendly research facility, tech forest, and social movement that empowers everyday individuals, families and local communities to repair and reimagine humanity’s relationship with itself, and the planet Earth.

As a research facility, Waffle Forest is interested in the correlation between dilapidated landscapes, indigenous and sustainable vegetation, carbon emissions, and the psycho-social health and wellness of individuals and families.

We directly monitor, analyze, and document the number of dilapidated landscapes, rate of carbons emissions, and the health and development of trees in a given community/area and climate.

As a Tech-forest, Waffle Forest utilizes state-of-the-art technology to not only reconnect humanity with nature intimately, but also to orchestrate and transform downtrodden and forgotten landscapes into lush, eco-friendly, green oases that cleans and recycles the air. Each tree in our forest, indigenous to the surrounding terrain and climate, is hand-picked by an individual, family, or corporate entity, and is equipped with Tree-Talk technology, an application that continuously reports the health status and needs of the tree. This technology, concurrently, directly connects humanity with nature and enables each constituent the ability to monitor the health status and post/curate any relevant content they wish to be forever associated with the tree on the tree’s online profile.

We believe that the current state and ills of our ecosystem is a direct correlation of humanity’s relationship with itself, whereby healing humanity also means restoration of the planet Earth. Furthermore, we believe this healing process begins by a process of reforestation. As a social movement, Waffle Forest is committed to cultivating energy-efficient, health and wellness centered, green-spaces for both urban and rural youth and families. Our trees and cutting-edge technology are the tools we offer to individuals, families, and corporate entities as a means of improving and strengthening

1) everyday quality of life,

2) immediate and extended family dynamics,

3) community values and property value,

4) while simultaneously combatting local large-scale carbon emissions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in scottsdale Arizona in the heart of old town. There are many restaurants and bars around. I would take them to my favorite Restaurant Toca Madera its one of my favorite places to eat and drink. i love The Vibe of the place its a really high end latin inspired restaurant. I would take them hiking. Everyone comes to hike camelback so i would do that. Take them to south Mountain in south phoenix. You can see the whole valley of Arizona its one of the highest points so u can see every city. We would go take a trip to Sedona and that is one of the most beautiful hiking trails. We defiantly would go golfing I like the Phonician its close to home and its a high end golf course. We would go hit old town and check out the local bars. I love coffee so its something i do every morning. There are alot of beautiful people in scottsdale arizona so the bar scene is always great. The nightclubs in old town scottsdale is like a mini vegas.
