Meet EstiloDes aka DeathRaE | Stylist & Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with EstiloDes aka DeathRaE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi EstiloDes aka DeathRaE, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel that risk taking has played the biggest role in my life. Every goal I have accomplished was because I decided to put trust into myself and take the risk of “what if?”.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is a mix of culture, inspiration, knowledge, and experience; it is very raw and to the point. Professionally, I have been working and following through with my passions. I feel there’s so much “beating around the bush”, people are too intimidated to be creators. Trusting in my struggle as a creator was probably one of the hardest things to do but because of it I’ve finally started to see the difference in my career. I don’t feel like I’m on a professional level because there is still so much work to be done. Although when I do look around myself and realize where I am now as to where I was, I see the hard work and dedication paying off. Through all this, I’ve learned a lot about the community. The “Do’s and Dont’s” of working, networking, and connecting: overall experiencing a lot of life. Understanding what real is and understanding myself as a creator. I just hope everyone understands that I’m still the same Little Des, just actually living out her dreams. Really living the everyday struggle; not placing myself into a box or limiting myself to what I can be or create. Everything I’ve created around me was due to having pure intentions, connections, shows… the accomplishments were attained because I chose to be authentic through everything.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Food and Drinks would definitely be the first stop. Ziggys pizza in downtown Phoenix is literally the place to be. Then of course for drinks and dancing we could just step right into Stardust. For some artsy cultural vibes I would definitely take them to Latinos Arts and Cultural center who host Twelfth House’s Creative networking events. There I have met most local creators that I work and collaborate with now. I also go to a lot of underground music shows so we’d definitely go out and support some local artists!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As I’ve continued taking all these risks, there have been been many people who have supported my work. I would like to make a special mention to someone who has been there for me whilst going through their own journey, Ms. RickyFlix. aka Parrish Hughes She is a photographer and most importantly a friend of mine.
