Meet Federica Sbordone | Instagram Micro Influencer & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Federica Sbordone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Federica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In 2018 I started working full-time for a company for the first time in my life. I had a pretty good earning opportunity and worked there for a year. Shortly before the end of my annual contract covid started and given the lockdown I had a lot of time to reflect on my life, on myself, on what I liked doing and what I didn’t like doing. After a long period of reflection, I left that job which, despite guaranteeing me a good secure income, did not reflect my interests and required my whole day, and did not leave me fully satisfied. With courage, I chose to leave the certain for the uncertain and I launched myself into life. I started studying what interested me most: Digital Marketing and I specialized in Content Creation, my greatest passion and what I currently do. So behind the start of my business, there is a desire to make my hobby and favorite pastime an opportunity to earn but above all to make my knowledge and skills a tool of help for those in need.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always chosen art. My mother was the artist of the house and thanks to her I approached the world of painting. I attended a drawing and painting course when I was only 6 years old and since then I have never stopped being the creative person I am. After middle school, I chose to attend art school, which gave me many valuable notions. Later I attended the Griffith Film Academy, given my interest in cinema and there I discovered my passion for audiovisual language. But art has always been something extra for me, I never would have thought it could be part of my job also because after school almost 6 years have gone by today where I have done the most disparate jobs in the world (none that centered on the art). The path to get to where I am has been uncertain, full of doubts, fears, and leaps in the dark. I went through all of this with the hope of a better future. I faced all of this by believing in myself and pursuing a goal: to make my dream come true at all costs. Along the way, I learned that you have to get lost in order to find yourself. So to be wrong is correct. Feeling wrong is okay. They are all signs that help us grow and evolve. Signs indicate that perhaps the path we are on is not ours. I wish it was known about me that even though I seem like a strong person, with experience, who knows a lot, that’s not the case at all. I consider myself a reserved person, stubborn at times, very fragile, and still learning to deal with the world. I wish my story would inspire you to never give up, always believe in yourself, and listen to the real us.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my life, I have traveled quite often, not a lot but I have some beautiful places in my heart. I would personally recommend visiting Amsterdam, one of a kind experience. Also, Copenhagen is a beautiful city with wonderful people who have taught me to be a better person. Copenhagen opens your mind, projects you into the future, and broadens your vision. Another nice place that I recommend is Ibiza, not for the clubs but for the vibes of lightness, slow life, the sea, good food, well-being, and music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Personally, behind my story (which is still unfinished, fortunately) there is a lot. People I feel like thanking are first and foremost my parents who, despite their now advanced age, have always supported me and in recent times, I see that they are committed to trying to understand my reasoning and my values. I am grateful for their presence as they have certainly given me carte blanche, they are giving me time and space to be able to fully express myself and to work on myself and on what I believe is worth focusing on. In addition to them, I thank Valerio my life partner for well over 9 years. He has always been by my side, in the good times but also in the many difficult times. I’m slowly coming out of the worst years of my life and unfounded, a lot is also thanks to him. I realized that we often end up living a life on the run, hectic, without even having the time to stop and reflect on the important things. Here, I thank the time, I thank the reflection and introspection. It is thanks to this that I got out of the banal and gray routine that hangs over the lives of many of us and grips us, making us feel as if there is no way out as if we have no other options.
