Meet Greg Garcia | Podcasting & Digital Media Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Generation Mars Media was started as a hobby, which was born out of a love for broadcasting in general. I started Generation Mars Podcast in 2020 when I was forced by my school site to teach online. I had the majority of my recording & sound equipment, and would use it to strengthen my communication with students during this time. As I got more proficient in broadcasting & live streaming I started to extend Generation Mars into a business model for podcasting needs and other social media marketing services for influencers.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This might seem kind of weird but I see Broadcasting as an art form. Growing up I was extremely into music. I would spend hours researching artists, their backgrounds, and listen to their songs over & over again. Especially the ones that really put a deep imprint into my soul. As I got older I understood frequencies, sound waves, and how you communicate them sets mood in music. For instance when you listen to many of The Beatles music certain keys and frequencies that they implement in their hits is a huge part of the listeners experience and liking. This too is to be considered when broadcasting. So when I am communicating through a podcast I have a mindset like a music performer, and I consider the listener’s experience at all times.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Arizona’s best tourist features are it’s unforgettable desert terrain regions. I really enjoy hiking in Sedona and driving through desolate desert areas especially those near the Colorado River. Speaking of the Colorado River, boating and jet skiing are great tourist attractions here in the state of Arizona. All of these areas are where I would invite friends and family when visiting Arizona.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the evolution of brainstorming my desire to have a “live” podcast, I would typically pitch my ideas in conversations with my wife. She and I are very close and we both have a flair for marketing. In fact marketing is her career. Furthermore, a friend of mine who was also interested in podcasting gave me the initial push by purchasing high quality broadcasting equipment and then allowing me to use it. Without these two individuals I probably would have delayed my entry into podcasting and digital media marketing.
