Meet Hannah & Ann Marie Martinez/Monteiro | Co-Founders of Prosperum (CEO & CCO)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah & Ann Marie Martinez/Monteiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah & Ann Marie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Ann Marie and I (Hannah) met during our Master’s program in Clinical Nutrition, where we quickly discovered a common frustration: the complexity of the supplement market and a widespread misunderstanding about the roles and balances of vitamins and minerals in our diets. Motivated to change this, we envisioned a platform that emphasizes transparency and simplicity in nutritional conversations. Thus, Prosperum was born—a mobile app that offers personalized guidance to help each user understand and optimize their nutrient intake. Our goal is to cultivate a healthier relationship with food and to transform the overwhelming supplement marketplace into an accessible, easy-to-understand resource. As Prosperum evolved, we also recognized the critical importance of sustainable farming and the need for accessible, nutrient-dense foods. Through personalized insights and science-backed research, we aim to encourage functional wellness, guiding users toward a future where Prosperum is synonymous with enhanced vitality and conscious well-being.

What should our readers know about your business?
Prosperum redefines health tech by prioritizing nutrient balance over calorie counting. Our innovative approach focuses on personalized nutrition and a food-first philosophy to help people feel their best. We are committed to improving people’s relationships with food and cultivating sustainable, lifelong dietary habits.
Hannah and I founded Prosperum just a few weeks after graduating from our master’s program at Sonoran University in 2022. We believe the health care system often benefits off our confusion and there is an incentive to make nutrition complicated when its actually very simple. Our passion for empowering people to take control of their health through diet and appropriate supplementation continuously inspires us.
The journey has not been easy, and there is still a long way to go. We face challenges such as imposter syndrome and feelings of being in over our heads, but we persist every day. Our key to success has been consistency and confronting our hurdles openly and directly. Over the past 16 months, we have learned so much and are excited about how far we will go.
Amid the ever-changing nutrition recommendations, a bewildering supplement market, and the lack of nutrition education in conventional medicine, we hope that people come to see Prosperum as a reliable wellness resource. Our enthusiasm for the science of nutrition and the body’s remarkable ability to heal itself with proper vitamins and minerals is what drives us. We hope this commitment is evident in everything we do as Prosperum continues to grow.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Prosperum would not be where it is today without the support of the rest of our team, Austin Lutterloh and Alberto Valtierra. Austin joined the Prosperum team as our Chief Financial Officer in October 2023. Beto joined the team as a software developer in January 2024. Both Austin and Beto have put in many hours of work, helping to grow Prosperum (for free!). We could not be more thankful to have them on our team.
