Meet harmony fulton | gooder goods co-owner + spirit animal

We had the good fortune of connecting with harmony fulton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi harmony, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
SOUL. by that i mean the spirit of the people who started and run gooder goods: the founders – nate, joe and i, and our incredible cooks and baristas. success is greatly dependent upon culture so to create a stellar culture in our company we regularly practice being positive, powerful, playful, generous, grateful and real. starting a business is a difficult thing in and of itself and we did it in the midst of a pandemic. i don’t say that to boast, i say it because if it weren’t for us adhering to these six values, we may not have made it thru the hard times. and there were some hard, hard times. if i were pressed to choose ONE of these six attributes, i’d choose playful. no wait, i’d choose grateful. shoot, being positive is suuuper important, too. hmmmm, well, it’s a good thing i don’t have to choose!!
What should our readers know about your business?
i am most proud of the why behind gooder goods. we started this cafe because we have a relentless desire to inspire others. we want to contribute to the world in ways that will improve people’s physical and mental health so that they can then do the great things they have the skill and drive to do. a tag line of ours is “fuel good. feel good. do gooder.” and it encompasses that why. we believe when people eat healthy, nutritious, colorful foods their bodies feel good and that’s crucial to how they show up in all areas of their lives… as a parent, leader, friend, neighbor… i am also proud and excited about our mini-retail stores, which are our refrigerated vending machines. we took a risk and bought ten of these fridges not yet knowing where we would place them and we now have 3 of them in our community: at a gym, an apartment complex and a corporate center and there’s a good chance we’ll have a couple in terminal 4 at the phoenix airport soon. these mini stores are a way we can make fresh, healthy food more accessible and convenient to people and help them level up their wellness!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
lol, i’m not sure i’m the best person to answer this question! i say that because if my best friend were visiting the most important thing would be time together and it wouldn’t matter where. also because i don’t get out much! but i will say that we would definitely share the veggie burger at hillstone, hike camelback mountain, walk the labyrinth at the saint francis renewal center, take a class at bodi and take dogs to the chaparral dog park.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
my shout out goes to my boo bear, aka my business partner, aka nate lowrie. for starters, nate was the one who provided capital to start and grow the cafe. that capital also gave nate, joe and i a dream come true opportunity to create a brand and a menu that aligns with our life values to serve our community. in addition to that, nate has made great efforts to support gooder goods in what little free time he has while also crushing his own career goals as a ceo of the valleywise health foundation. his drive, tenacity, persistence and grit are quite inspiring and his 4a wake up time is admirable (my dogs, cats and i haven’t quite figured out how to do that last part just yet, but we sure do sing his praises while we snuggle in bed for just a little longer!) thank you, boo bear, for making my dreams not just possible, but REAL.
