Meet Heather Irwin: Business Owner/Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Irwin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
The most important thing I have done as a parent in terms of the impact of my children is that courage comes from the heart and to never give up. Things may not go as planned but you must take a step back, tweak, and repeat. It may change into something different but it is yours and you created it by navigating your path to meet your needs.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Looking into a camera I found something more than just a subject. I found the way to bring my passions together. Art school was my biggest challenge, and proud to say I graduated with honors and best portfolio. After that stepping stone I started my own business which has also been challenging. I got to where I am today because I failed quite a bit. But sometimes life gets in the way and you have to learn a few things before you can move forward. I learned that failing is not a bad thing. It teaches us what doesn’t work and its suppose to encourage us to go back to the drawing board and find a solution. Things change, life changes and so does the path. The way it makes you feel is what stays the same. My business isn’t just a photography studio. It’s a “creative” studio, that adapts to create a unique experience for everyone. My inspiration has encouraged me to create a company that utilizes my knowledge and passion of animals and bring a bond between them and children….and some adults because it’s hard to resist a photo with a goat wearing a Fedora.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Places to visit in Phoenix, AZ is Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium & Safari Park, Desert, visit the Grand Canyon, take a jeep tour in Sedona, a haunted tour in Jerome, a boat ride at Canyon Lake, Best places to eat are Binkley’s, Durant’s, Rice Paper, Big Mike’s Breakfast, and Taco Guild.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
