We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Promise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Entrepreneurship is a reward, in itself. It is truly satisfying. I started my own business to create and innovate.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our yoga studio and school is a spiritual oasis in the desert. We offer yoga teacher training programs, workshops and a wide spectrum of yoga classes for everybody. Love and inclusion have sustained us over the years and have built a strong community bond among the teachers and students. The margins are small in a yoga studio. It is a fact of the industry. So, it has not always been easy to maintain, especially during tough times. And in tough times, like this, our community rallies together yet again, to carry on with this good work. Our studio culture is fun and vibrant. We foster a healthy ecosystem of sustainable processes that engender trust, authenticity, and kindness to ALL beings.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We definitely need to go to downtown Gilbert! There are so many great restaurants and hangouts there. We should start the fun at Paradox Escape Room (just south of downtown on Palo Verde). Here, we will enjoy many levels of puzzles and adventure. I laugh a lot and enjoy the games so much! Next we should go get a bite to eat on the strip. The restaurants are great! My favorite is Joyride, where the vegetarian burrito (with “white magic” sauce) is often a part of my dreams! I want one RIGHT NOW! Finally, we should head over to O.S.H.O brewery for a pint. The beer here is super cold! Also, O.S.H.O is across the street from Whiskey Row, where the people watching is unparalleled.

Give a BIG shout out to Cassandra Bright, the founder of Gilbert Yoga and to all the dedicated teachers at the studio who make up our yoga family.
