We love ourselves a good quote and so we asked our community to share their favorite quotes and affirmations with us and we’ve highlighted some below.
My favorite quote, that I tell all my athletes. Is “There’s no growth in comfort, and there’s no comfort in growth!” For me, anytime in life that I have achieved something worth while. I had to push myself outside of my comfort zone to achieve my desired goal. Nothing worth while in life comes easy. If you’re thinking that success comes easy and stress free you’re sadly mistaken. However, once you push yourself past what you thought you could do. And you achieve your goal. The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction you get when you see the fruits of your labor pay off. Don’t be a cliché. As a teenager I read one of those Mad Magazine sidebar quips that prevail throughout their publications… one was “Everybody is conforming to become nonconformists”. So yes, societal comfort is found in common crowds whether for good or bad… but I think what a waste of a soul, a personality, a talent or gift if it’s exactly the same as all the others. My mom had a typed piece of paper on our refrigerator growing up that read,” If it is to be, it’s up to me.” My mother was very supportive of everything I did. I also have a mantra tattoo on me that reads Peace, Love, and Harmony, which is my mantra verse it is The Peace within myself, the love I have to give, and the harmony I hope to create.
