We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Wiest and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, every day, we know about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Love Serve Inspire LLC Holistic Yoga and Wellness Services has evolved over decades of serving my family and community, as well as working through my own personal healing journey. As a stress release from my social work career, I discovered and fell in love with yoga. I quickly experienced the life changing benefits of a consistent yoga practice to my physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, and desired to share the love with others. My heart for learning and exploration continues to shift and refine my yoga teaching, private practice and business. In 2015, while in meditation, I remember clearly receiving the words, LOVE SERVE INSPIRE. “But through love, serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13) Yes, this is my mission and life purpose! I created a website, blog, audio meditations etc., and then felt called to establish Love Serve Inspire LLC in 2018. EXPANSION began 2018. ADVENTURE filled 2019. EMBRACE captured 2020. When asking God for my theme word for 2021, He clearly gave me ARISE. Anticipate. Revelation. It’s time. Seek the higher gifts. Emerge. I hope to be made new by every revelation given to me. May I passionately arise and share these gifts as I continue to Love Serve and Inspire my family and community.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am beyond blessed to LOVE, SERVE and INSPIRE my family and community as a Christ centered Yoga Teacher E-RYT®500, YACEP®, Retreat Leader, Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki® Master, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and contributing author. My busy life as a wife, mother, and guide, encourages me to find the pause — embracing every moment of connection, presence, and peace. A passionate, yet simple girl at heart, you can find me breathing in another radiant Arizona sunrise or sunset. All of my life experiences and professional training help create who I am today, and how I instruct my classes. I hope to create memorable experiences. I believe the holistic yoga sessions I guide are engaging and rejuvenating, leaving students feeling balanced, connected, and inspired. I specialize in teaching Restorative Yoga Nidra, Pre and Post Natal Yoga, and a fun, yet challenging Slow Flow practice. Customized private yoga and reiki sessions, as well as public workshops are also a joy to facilitate. All of my class themes and readings are accessible as blog posts on my website, as well as a collection of FREE audio guided meditations and relaxing Yoga Nidra recordings. You can also practice yoga with me in the comfort of your own home via my YouTube channel. Questions, comments, and suggestions are always welcome! This is how we grow and evolve into more effective teachers and guides. One of my favorite testimonials received stated, “When I’m in your classes I feel like I’m under a huge umbrella of compassion; when I leave, I want to share it with the world!”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am blessed to be an Arizonan native and resident the North West Valley since 1982. My favorite places to visit with family and friends are: Hiking the Sunrise Mountain Preserve, West Wing and East Wing Trails in Peoria and then stopping at Well Coffee for a turmeric latte (delicious!), stand up paddle boarding or kayaking at Lake Pleasant, visiting the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) and then dining at Flower Child, taking visitors to the Desert Botanical Gardens (out-of-town guests love cactus!), participating in a yoga class at Modern Yoga in Scottsdale and then refueling at True Food, walking and meditating at a local labyrinth…we are blessed to have many in the Valley of the Sun. Have time for a day trip? Visiting Sedona and eating at ChocolaTree would be such a treat! Did someone say Mexican food? Some new places to try on the West Side are: Barrio Queen, Cantina Gueros, and Mochilero Kitchen.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest cheerleader and supporter is my husband and best friend, Jon Wiest. He is the most humble and wise person I know. Jon has always been there for me through every growth opportunity and success, and I am beyond grateful for our 30+ years of sharing life together. I glean the most from our amazing daughters, Madeline and Mackenzie. What an honor to witness them both become dynamic difference makers in this world! My highest calling is being their Mom. My greatest spiritual influence was my paternal grandfather, Samuel M.Taylor. I would visit the 200 acre Taylor Farm once or twice a year as a youth, and Sam’s presence would encourage and teach me. I absorbed his authentic spirituality, service, sacrifice, and true love. Filled with overwhelming emotion, I was blessed to share at his memorial service in 2003, with my 11-month old first born daughter watching me from the audience. “Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.” (Hebrews 13:7-8) Mr. Sam inspired me, and so many others who spoke of his impact and continuing legacy. WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU? Let’s journey together through a motivating meditation. Take a few deep, centering breaths. Now, reflect upon your ELEMENTARY SCHOOL YEARS and think of your FAVORITE TEACHER. Notice who comes to mind first. Visualize this special person. Did they have a unique voice, smell, distinguishing feature or mannerism? What did they say or do that was memorable and inspiring? How did you feel in their presence? What qualities did/do you respect about this teacher? And now, fast forward into your HIGH SCHOOL YEARS and choose one YOUTH LEADER, COACH, COUNSELOR or TEACHER who positively influenced your life path. Visualize this individual: their smile, their gaze, their listening ear. What did they say or do that was motivating and encouraging? How did you feel in their presence? What qualities did/do you respect about this leader? Now dwell upon a CURRENT MENTOR, COACH, TEACHER who challenges and lovingly spurs you on to the next level. Visualize their whole being, their essence—body, mind and spirit. What do they say and do that is heart-felt and wise? How do you feel in their presence? What qualities do you treasure about this respected guide? Encompass now these three influential people. Are there any common themes or threads in your teachers, coaches, and mentors? Can you choose ONE QUALITY, ONE WORD that describes them all? Notice what arises first. Looking at your own life, does this ONE QUALITY, ONE WORD represent you and how you desire to inspire and influence others? WHO DO YOU INSPIRE? How do others feel in your presence? What do you say and do that is motivating and memorable? Allow yourself to smile in gratitude and joy for those who have inspired you and for those you inspire. Never underestimate the POWER OF ONE. ONE PERSON. ONE SMILE. ONE WORD. ONE CHALLENGE. ONE INSPIRATION.
