Meet Isabela Pfeffer | Wedding and Portrait Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabela Pfeffer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabela, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always loved visual arts. Growing up, I loved to draw, write stories, make jewelry, and I’ve even dabbled in animation. When I learned film photography in high school, I was instantly hooked, and I quickly found that my favorite subject to photograph was people. When I realized I could make a career out of it, I gave it a shot and fell in love. Getting to make a career out of making art is one of my biggest dreams come true!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always described my photography with three words: earthy, warm, and timeless. I’m heavily inspired by nature, and try to implement more natural tones in my work, with a bit of a moody and film-inspired twist. I love to keep my prompts and poses as timeless as possible, and I aim for my clients to have a combination of both candid moments and editorial-esque photos in every gallery I deliver.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have to start with Sedona; it’s iconic and stunning, and definitely a must-see. If my friend was up for hiking, I’d take them to see Devil’s Bridge and Oak Creek Canyon. Back in the valley, I’d definitely have to take them thrifting and antiquing at places like Main Street Antique Mall in Mesa, Antique Trove in Scottsdale, and the Mesa Thrift Store on Main Street. We’d also have to hit up my one of my three favorite plant stores: Pueblo in Phoenix, Maricopa Botanicals in Tempe, or Lena’s Flowers in Gilbert. Finally, I’d treat them to some of my favorite coffee shops, including Valley Coffee Co. in Phoenix and Charlee Rose Coffee in Gilbert!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom has always been endlessly encouraging when it comes to the art I make. She’s always been my number one fan, even back when I was a small child drawing scribbles all over a page and coloring outside the lines. She’s been my hype girl since day one, and she’s always asking to see more photos that I’ve taken for clients. Shoutout to Virginia!
