We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabelle Guarino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabelle, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Our company Residential Assisted Living Academy is family owned and operated. This to me, is the most important factor behind our success. My father started this company in 2013 by showing others how he was creating cashflow in senior housing, while feeling good about his investments….and it’s only gone up from there! He asked me to come on board at first, as his assistant, and I loved it so much, I gave 110% effort and he soon promoted me to Operations Manager and eventually Chief Operations Officer of the entire company. Working alongside my dad has been such a blessing, we’ve been able to connect in a new way and I’ve learned so much being by his side. It’s also our super power! The fact that I know what he wants or needs before he even asks, has made our working relationship so seamless. We really enjoy one another’s company and have had so much fun building this brand together. My brother has also joined the team, as the Sales Director. He is incredible and really able to use his skill set of motivating, inspiring and leading his team to bring in over $3mm this past year. His wife joined on board as my assistant and now runs the entire Operations department and her older sister works under her as well. My older sister is in charge of the Finance department and we rely on her to keep us all in line and staying on track with HR and finances. Her husband, my brother in law runs our largest department, the Marketing realm of the company. He is incredible and has a huge team under him, they are constantly putting out amazing new social media posts, writing the most in-depth blogs and newsletters and bringing our graphics, videos and commercials up to such a high standard. We are so blessed to all be able to work together, because of our past knowledge of how everyone thinks, operates and what everyone’s little quirks are, it’s been a huge factor in our speed of success. We love working together as a family and I truly believe it is the best part of my job!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Residential Assisted Living Academy is unlike any other senior housing training company. First, we are the only national brand who teaches you how to own and operate your very own Residential Assisted Living home. Second, we are not only teaching you how, we are also in the game with you. We own and operate our own 6 Residential Assisted Living homes in Arizona. Third, we are family owned and operated, my father is the Founder and all of my siblings and their partners work in the company! We are so proud of our company and what we have built together, our company motto is to do good and do well through Residential Assisted Living. And our 10 year goal is to positively impact 1 million people through senior housing! We are so excited about the future of senior housing! As we’ve seen with COVID19, being in a smaller environment is better! We’ve been saying it for years, “smaller is better” but this has proven it so drastically. People are ripping their parents out of the “big box” facilities and bringing them to smaller Residential Assisted Living homes all across the country. Due to the amount of control we can have within these homes, the diminished flow of staff is so much easier to control and the smaller amount of residents, usually 6-16, really helps control the cases of COVID19. The amount of cases in Residential Assisted Living homes was only 3% of ALL cases within seniors in assisted living facilities! There is such a huge future for Residential Assisted Living and we are happy to be the brand and company to go to when in need!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For hiking I would suggest Camelback or Squaw Peak. For eating I would suggest Hidden House in Gilbert! For hanging out I would suggest Flix Brewhouse.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
100% my father is my motivation for success! He started in real estate when he was just 18 years old and has been a business owner and entrepreneur since he was 15. Through ups and downs of business decisions and life, he has never quit, he has never faltered and worked for someone else, he knew he could do it and he didn’t stop until he achieved ultimate success. Ultimate success in our eyes is a family legacy. Leaving cashflow, businesses and freedom to your children, instead of burden, debt and worry. He created Residential Assisted Living homes for seniors, that solve so many problems! First, it’s a place for my grandparents to live, rent free and be cared for with top notch quality care. Next it’s a place for us to care for other seniors in their most time of need, give a solution to other families who cannot care for mom or dad 24/7. It is also a solution for my own father and mother, when they age and eventually need help with their ADL’s (activities of daily living) they will be able to stay in their own RAL (Residential Assisted Living homes) for free! And not leave a burden to myself and my siblings, but instead their leaving us a cash flowing business and a solution for multiple generations. We can feel good about doing good and doing well with Residential Assisted Living and that’s why my dad is my hero and deserves 100% recognition for all of my accomplishments in this realm, he is the inspiration!
