We had the good fortune of connecting with Jack Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jack, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always wanted to be my own boss and have the flexibility to manage my health and family life.

What should our readers know about your business?
RevampIT Audio Video LLC has been in business for almost nine years now. We custom design, install and support the technology in your home and business. Everything from running all the necessary wires to their locations, to wired/wireless networks, security, music, TVs, cell boosting, automated lighting and shades, home theaters, conference rooms, and much more. All that technology gets integrated into an easy to use control system and custom automation to make your life easier and safer. There are two aspects that really sets us apart. One, we have strategic partners to get any project complete. We work with excellent General Contractors so no matter what your project entails, as a team, we can get it done. We are selective with the manufactures we work with and products we sell so we can provide the most reliable equipment and offer the best support. Two, we offer monthly Technology Performance Plans to all our clients. We know the sale doesn’t end after the installation is complete. We understand power and internet outages happen, as well as technology continues to work its best with regular software updates and maintenance. Our service plans allows us to proactively monitor the system we install, and get notified when an issue has occurred so we can react quickly to keep your technology working for you. Starting a business is easy. Growing a business is hard. I will say the American Dream is alive and well. With dedication, hard work, and most importantly, quality work, I was able to grow my business organically. The one aspect I am most proud of is being able to employ people. The opportunity to provide a job to someone whom is deserving and help their professional growth is very rewarding. Hiring and maintaining employees was a whole new challenge. That being said, hiring has allowed me to take the next step in growing the business. As a company we are excited for the continued growth ahead and providing the technology and integration to enrich our clients’ lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely be going to the best sports bar in the valley: K O’Donnell’s Sports Bar and Grill. Not only do they have over 70 TVs to watch all your favorite sports teams, their food is amazing. Best place in the valley to catch a game. Side note: my company did all their AV in the bar when they remodeled a couple years ago). We would then have to head up to Lake Powell. My favorite place to get away. The scenery is unreal there and it’s a great place to relax, have fun and unwind.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my wife, Courtney Thompson. She has no doubt made me into a better person, leader, and businessman. Without her ongoing support, I, nor my business, would be where it is today. She is Wonder Woman! Especially now with a 9-month old baby, her support has been paramount.
