Meet Jason Johnson | CEO & Head Dog Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our business is focused on training all dogs but our passing is helping dogs no one else wants to help. The misfits. We specialize in behavior modification. Dogs who are bite risks, dog aggressive or have extreme behavior problems are our favorite cases to work. We help families that have given up hope and are at a loss how to help their reactive dogs. We show them the right skills and techniques to help them manage their dogs and recover from past trauma. We also help local dog rescues train their hardest to place dogs. Dogs that are pulled from the euthanasia list or pulled from bad situations need extra help to get them adopted and placed in homes. We love to partner with local rescue and help get these dogs adoptable and in forever homes. We have also started a non-profit, Magnum’s Mission, to further help the community shelters and rescues with their longest, hardest to place dogs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

When Jason is not working with clients or volunteering his time he pursues his own passion, training his own dogs to compete in Nose Work competitions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Hub Mesa is a place we often frequent and enjoy the food and the atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My leap from law enforcement K9 training to pet dog training spawned from my working dog Magnum. Magnum was a house pet who was surrendered by his family and with limited outlets found his calling with law enforcement. He served for a long time before retiring with my family for the rest of his life before passing away surrounded by love. He sparked my calling to help dogs who also had limited options find their purpose and thrive in their families.
