We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Monday and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jay, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years and I wanted to bring my military and family beliefs of honor & integrity to the trades. I wanted to show people that a company can be built and flourish by reputation and standings in the community vs advertising. I love helping people and it is so rewarding to be able to fix, repair or replace air conditioning and plumbing better than how it was originally installed. To be able to bring people better quality air conditioning & plumbing helps me feel honorable and go to bed knowing I do people right.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Most people think of plumbers and AC techs as dirty, messy blue collar guys and gals with their butt crack hanging out of their pants while bending over. I’ve have worked really hard to make our appearance completely opposite of the persona portrayed and I deliver clean techs, great attitudes, not stinking of cigarettes or other gross habits. We wear booties, gloves and masks upon requisition to help keep people’s homes clean and their health safe. Just on appliance and attitude alone our customers feel comfortable and love having us in their home. Then we impress then with the most beautiful plumbing and air conditioning work. Nice clean straight pipes, clean welds, well laid out ducting & piping, attention to detail is our middle name. Our customers time and time again say its sad we have to cover up the plumbing and ac work because its so beautiful, artwork.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Arizona is a remarkably beautiful state with lots to see and enjoy. I would recommend traveling in the winter so you can enjoy perfect 70* days in the valley. Of course we have snow in the winter so plenty of fun to be had if you need to hit the slopes. Tons of great hiking, camping and fishing spots all over the state and exploring old mines and ruins is just another thing too add to the visiting list. I’m a foodie so don’t be afraid to ask me where I go to get my favorite craving satisfied. Sushi, Italian, Chinese, Serbian, Korean, BBQ & american comfort food, AZ has some of the best eats in the country right here.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents made me who I am today. My dad Rick was a great inspiration in the mental growth of being a man and teaching me life’s important lessons. A very honorable man, highly intelligent man who bestowed the values of honor and integrity into me. My mom is an amazingly strong woman who taught me to never give up, never surrender and never accept defeat. She pushed me for excellence and always told me if someone tells you it can’t be done, prove them wrong.
