We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Baluch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was the type of person who worked a 9am-5pm corporate job. I never did anything for myself. All I did in life was work, go home, eat, sleep and wake up to do it all over again. In January 2020, I decided to come up with an actual New Years Resolution for the first time! I said I was going to create a food page, because I knew it was something I loved and would enjoy for myself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My creative work when it comes to restaurants is a bit different than others. I spend a lot of time, sometimes hours researching to find hidden, unique restaurants or things in the valley. I like to focus on places no other influencer goes to or has been to. It has been a very fun journey to get where I am. However, it did not start out easy. I was furloughed from my full time career job and thought my life was over. Turns out the furlough turned into me becoming an entrepreneur and having my OWN business with clients! I believe the furlough was Gods way of showing me exactly what and where I needed to be in life. I have made a lot of friends, met a lot of awesome restaurant owners and had a lot of great experiences. Sometimes when one door closes, an open door is around the corner waiting for you.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is my go to itinerary for anyone visiting for a week long trip;

When I was in the first couple months of my food page I met someone named Kristin Paxton. She ran a food page too called When Do We Eat. She was the person who actually invited me to my first influencer meetup/collaboration. Then we became friends and she shared her journey with me and helped me build my brand up over time!
